Yea the knows the system is the dumbest things fans ever say to justify a wack signing. Dude was one of the worst lbers in the league before we signed him.

Add this buster to the long list of bad FA signings.
Are you seriously questioning why a player like Hightower would want to change teams, pay more taxes, change systems, deal with a rebuild, etc over being on an obvious contender where he got a ring? Just like BB had to do, Lynch needs to build through the draft while working trades and getting FA's willing to deal with SF. Obviously a work in progress. You make the assumption that guys like Hightower even considered signing here.

Another player that stole money. Team did him a favor by cutting him early. Doubt he plays any meaningful football again.

Pickings were slim in 2017.

Just one example of the regime's attempt to cover their bases that didn't pan out, mostly. Part of the signing was for him to be a placeholder and mentor to eventually get phased out, nothing more. In that manner it worked out ok. Smith served his purpose for the 49ers and made out like a bandit in the process. Not detrimental to the team in the least. They still have a lot to prove, but this regime doesn't merit the impatience of the fans. Taken by itself KS and JL have the 49ers closer to the tier we were at in '11-'13 in just year three with an offense that will get us over the hump come February.

The York way is to hold onto a player at least one year too long.

I don't get how it was a terrible signing when we had so much money. I could see if we were cash strapped but that wasn't the case. Plus he probably helped some of the guys learn the system since he played in the same system his whole career.
Because we only got 35 tackles out of it.
You'll only get HEY KOOLAID responses to this NC.
Agree.

It's not his fault that some 300 lb. men hit his pectoral.
