No kidding!!!
If Vinatieri can kick till he's 46, Gould should have no problem.

If Gould wants to go back to Chicago, I would definitely franchise tag him.

Would the niners let him walk if he appealed to Lynch that he wants to move closer to his family? How do you hold him hostage?

Yes. Hold him hostage for $4M+. Sounds awful.
This is a business. The Niners will be pushing for a playoff spot next year. Why would they gift a critical asset to a team they very well may play in the playoffs? Think those critical kicks Gould made and Chicago missed this season may be a factor? I do.

Then that guy is an idiot. He will have 7 million dollars tied up in field goal kickers.

Cutting Parkey will not save them any money, even if they use the June 1st cut. He has 3.5 million in guaranteed salary for 2019, so they might as well have him be the kicker going into the season, and perhaps bring in competition through the draft or UDFA. I guess if they could find a team in need of a kicker, they could try and do like the Texans did a few years ago, and trade a player with guaranteed money to a new team, as long as you give that team a draft pick to take on that money.
Something like Parkey+5th round pick to a team for like a 7th round pick. Basically selling your pick for cap space. I know the Dolphins want to suck next year so they can get a new franchise QB, perhaps they make a trade like that, to land a 5th round pick this year, that they can trade for a better pick in the 2020 draft, but they'd also be getting a terible kicker to help them lose games. LOL

Please resign. This team has been really blessed the last 8 years or so with quality kicking after going cheap with guys like Jose Cortez...never want to go to that again.
