It's a team strategy is my understanding

Would love to have him back but 6M / year is a hefty figure.
Re-sign Gould. If they are worried about the kickoffs, cut the punter. He stinks.

You should check out that Isaac Punts on youtube or former punter McAfee and get some knowledge and Wish appreciation. Dude is awesome.

2 more years with us Robbie, win a SB as an old man, then you can retire

Wish had his best year last season. Up until then he's been an above average punter.

Hopefully he continues to get better and we have him as our P for another 10 years.

How much though? 5m 7m?
He's still pretty consistent and good. Keep him if you can. A bad kicker can kill you. We have had some bad ones over the years too.

At what price? Bosa will suck the air from our cap space.

At some reasonable price I would keep him. You don't break the bank. But in a close game at the end a bad kicker will get you beat. Both regular season and playoffs. We have seen that before on this team even in the past. It can kill you in the playoffs. You don't want to under estimate it.

I agree. I saw a lot of inconsistent kicking this year around the league. Many FGs under 40 yards and a lot of extra points missed. Whatever Gould lacks in range he makes up for in reliability.

If you get a horrible kicker it will burn you in close games.

13 - 4

becomes....

10 - 7

really fast.

This! I said last year a good kicker will win you 2 to 3 games a year and that's not including his perfect performance in the playoffs which we make pretty much every year. So we're going to need him even if it's at $5 million per year, it's worth a few extra wins which could be the difference between home-field advantage or at least home playoff games. Can't believe people are actually stressing this when they don't think it through

Yeah I agree. A good reliable kicker is worth it. It will cost you big in playoff seeding. Maybe tank your season. You just have to pay him. If it's kind of reasonable.
