100% agree
A better kicker can be drafted, potentially in the later rounds. There is definitely some kicking talent that can cost less and kick further.

I appreciate what he has done but I have wanted to replace him the past couple years for someone with more leg.

He played hard ball last time, and even then he wanted to stay closer to home and his family. Its time we move to a younger kicker. We enjoyed the streak of playoff makes, but a younger kicker will kick the ball deeper without chances of a runback, and probably won't get scratched during warmups like Robby has done lately.

Yep. Pretty much. Clutch on FG attempts. Horrible kickoff guy. Outside of Mexico City, where the air pressure helped sail the ball into the stands, Robbie could only muster long balls to the 10 which meant the opposing team always had a chance for a good return. Will miss him though…

He was team mvp in the early shanny years winning games with 4 5 6 field goals. Had to be perfect with sir lord game manager game plans, and he was. Great performances. Gonna miss robbie. Tip of the hat. He better be signing for good good money or this will be a mystery move.

Yup but it makes sense, draft one of the top kickers and save 3 mil a year

He never liked living on the west coast. He wants to be close to home I am assuming.

S strategically yes it could be. But I think now that we have Brock hopefully we will be able to score more touchdowns and need field goals less. So hopefully we can get by with just a good kicker. If we were still strapped on to the five-field-goals beat-2- touchdowns mentality then losing Robbie would be a real problem
I don't understand why it's a foregone conclusion that he won't return. Does he want back in Chicago or just out of SF?

Good post brodie!
We will be competing with DAL in the draft for those kickers we've been eyeballing

Ok, which teams are the "a lot" that you're referring to?

Oh it would not surprise me at all to see Dallas draft a kicker a full round earlier than expected!!

I hope that is sarcasm because the Niners have won 5 SB's.
