Kicker Robbie Gould

Apparently, the Bears are looking at Blair Walsh.

That would be a total downgrade. Parkey can at least hit the upright, Walsh isn't anywhere close.

Bears just signed a kicker not named Gould.

Wow what a shocker! I mean not really if you've actually been paying attention to how things work.

What is a Redford Jones?

This suggests the Bears are willing to eat $5M of Parkey's contract if they can find something better for less than what they will have to pay Gould in FA. To pay Parkey AND Gould on their current $14M cap number is just not realistic. If Parkey is worth $5M, Gould should be worth $4M at least. Too much money invested in kickers. I don't see Gould going back to Chicago.

It is beginning to look more and more like the Bears have bowed out of any chase to bring Gould back to Chicago. They just resigned Bobby Massie. The terms of the deal have not yet been released but he was getting $6.5M/yr and almost certainly did not take a cut. They had only $14M before that signing. Expect they only have around $8M left.

They also want to bring back Bryce Callahan and Adrian Amos. Both of those guys were solid DBs for them. It will take some restructuring of existing contracts or player cuts to make room for that.

Bottom line: They are not in the bidding for Robbie Gould.
The sooner Robbie is back the better!
Since when did the robbie gould signing become a "decision"?

Great news all around. Bring the family out here.
Hes only like 21 in kicker years. Give him a long term contract.
