I hope that is sarcasm because the Niners have won 5 SB's.
Yes, this is true. But it also true that most of our current team weren't alive to see any of them.

This off season might be full of them.

He was an elite kicker for the most part and in the playoffs he was perfect. We are going to miss that and I hope losing him doesn't cost us one or two games which could be the difference between home-field advantage or another home game.
He was a liability on kick offs so we will get better in that category but we will be worse off on field-goal percentage

That's a good point. I think we can definitely upgrade our kick off team with a new kicker that has a powerful leg.

This is really bad news. Our kicking game will probably be a lot worse. That has an effect guys.
13 - 4
can quickly go to
10 - 7
with bad kicking.
They will regret this.

How bizarre - finding a gem of a kicker in the draft would probably be the most important "hit" we need to make. Gould was fantastic for us.

Naw, shanny told Gould we don't plan to be in close games next year.

Yeah because there are alot of teams with a better chance at winning the SB than the Niners that happen to need a kicker lol.

Had you forgotten that you were in the 49ers Webzone?

No way a kicker is worth 3 extra wins. Not even Tucker is worth 3 wins. If Kickers had this much of an impact they would be getting paid as much as other positions. When people do their team rankings I never heard anybody say "This team is not a contender because of their Kicker"

"I'm nowhere near retiring," Gould said. "I got a lot left to do from a career perspective -- No. 1 being winning a Super Bowl. And, two, I'm pretty close to a lot of milestones I think would be pretty neat to be able to accomplish."
Sounds to me like this was a team decision and not a Gould decision. That little superbowl comment was a bit of a dis.

I guess it can come across that way but I don't think that was his intention.

Be careful. Remember when the 49er brass refused to pay Jeff Wilkins market value back in the day. He went on to have a good career with the Rams while we were stuck with foolios like Wade Richey and Jose Cortez.
