I don't blame them for not going crazy last offseason and getting all these big names because there were still a lot of holes but now with this draft class and potentially free agency class playing into our biggest need at edge rusher. If we're aggressive and lucky we can make a quick worst to first jump.

Getting Earl Thomas would go a long way to settling our secondary. The guy is perfect for this scheme and makes it run. He and Sherman have chemistry, hopefully we throw enough money at him and he's got enough desire to stick it to Seattle to sign with us over Dallas.

Getting Nick Bosa would solidify the DL and finally give us someone who can shut things down if we have a lead. His addition will also allow Solomon Thomas a chance to save his career by moving inside consistently.

Getting Antonio Brown would certainly bring a whole new level to our offense.

I don't know if we'll end up making these moves but the fact that the opportunity to make those moves exists means with a little luck our team could add some impact players at the right time.

Cross your fingers that we make these moves and everyone plays great for us with no serious injuries since we've had our damn fill last few years.

No question Antonio Brown would be that #1 WR that we don't have ...but with baggage. Hopefully not a head case, but nobody truly knows what exactly happened, so at most we just need to file it away that there is definite potential for a problem. That said, there really isn't that big a choice out there and Odell sure seems immature and is a bigger risk, IMO. Talentwise, i prefer AB.

The problem is the trade hick. I posted elsewhere that no more than a 5th for AB because of his potential for being problematic. Talent is no issue at all. but being a problem child......that to me says don't spend more than a 5th. I realize that won't get AB here. So realistically it is a 2nd or 3rd if we want to get him. That raises the risk factor if we do that, so that just has to be kept in mind. The other problem is , if it happens to be a 2nd, that is where we would need to be for an OG starter...pick # 34.if a 3rd rd pick, ok, we just do without a 2nd starting DB, and 2nd starting LB, and hope to fix that in FA. But for OG, if we use a 2nd in trade for AB, there goes our OG starter.

FA has some OGs ...Saffold is really a great fit, and would help us whiile hurting Rams. Moreover, he is a really good OG. So when /if we trade for AB, we better have a plan for bagging an OG in fA also, or AB falls off the table. Saffold would be my preference but i bet he goes at $10 mil per.

Ahhh, crap. Hopefully we can steal Amos or Callahan from them.
Bears can't do get Gould if SF franchises him.

I don't get all the fretting in here.

Bears will just sign him to an offer sheet anyway. When we come to collect our 1st round picks from the Bears Mack will answer the door and tell Lynch we need to pick them up from the Raiders. After that Lynch will get on the radio saying he has had discussions with a top tier pass rusher but the deal fell through.

Not if it's an exclusive tag. There's no offer sheet, no nothing.
Tag him and if the Bears want him, force them to give up some draft picks.

Highly unlikely, especially when the franchise tag will cost only $5 mil.

Not the point. If he really wants out and wants to go home to Chicago (who are already making moves), our FO might let him walk. Just like they let Mitchell, Garcon, Gilliam, etc. walk early so they can be free agents and get jobs elsewhere instead of cutting them post-June 1st and acquiring more cap space.

But we'll see. It could go either way. Are they all business like BB or are they going to let him walk?

You're comparing Gould who's been productive for two seasons in San Francisco to Mitchell who's been subpar, Garcon and Gilliam who's been plagued with injuries? Totally different situations.
If Lynch is going to let Gould go back to Chicago, perhaps we should franchise tag him, then agree to trade Gould to the Bears for Parkey, which will save the Bears the remaining guaranteed money owed to Parkey (minus the hit they take on his signing bonus). For us to take on the 1 year guaranteed salary owed to Parkey, along with the 2 follow up seasons with no guaranteed money (Hence easy to cut if he sucks in '19) to go with us trading Gould to them, perhaps we could get a 4th or a 5th round pick?
Parkey is owed 3.5 million in '19 if we trade for him, so not too much money, and he is normally a decent kicker. If we could get a 4th to do it, I would.
