More on Arizona Cardinals' WR DeAndre Hopkins now being expected to miss the rest of the regular season with a knee injury:https://t.co/brTDF9YhLm

They peaked too soon similar to last year. Goal isn't to be the best team in October. Want to be the best team come Jan/Feb.
I never understood this line of thinking. Should teams not get a head start & win games early? I'd rather be that than a team like the Colts winning just a little bit too late & miss the playoffs.
At least this year, with a win over Detroit, they'll win enough games to make the playoffs. Unlike last year.

Coaches and players need to pace themselves for the entire season + playoffs
Unveiling your best plays early in the season only to have opposing coaches study and counter them is a bad move
Example...SF unleashing Kap and the read option in the playoffs the first time. Coaches intentionally kept that out of regular season games and made playoff teams look silly with it because they had no idea what was coming
Players need to regulate their health and not go 100% effort where they risk injury early in the season or play meaningless minutes if a game is decided.
You want players healthy for the playoff run and your playbook to have secrets remaining

Kaep was running the read option in the regular season. Do you not even remember your own team? It just happens that he was able to feast on it against a team in GB that didn't have the personnel to stop it.
Ah, so you should hope for a team to start out 3-7 so they can avoid the "peaking early" problem. That's the smart way I guess.
None of what you said has to do with peaking early. Injuries happen. Bad matchups happen. Bad games happen. That's just the nature of football.

Per @PaulCalvisi, Rondale Moore has an ankle injury and his return is considered questionable#AZvsDET

Now they have Indy and Jonathan Taylor who ran all over the Patriots defense coming up on Saturday.
The Cardinals defense meanwhile got lit up on the ground today by...checks notes...Craig Reynolds.

How INSANE is the Lions win over the Cardinals?
— NFL on CBS 🏈 (@NFLonCBS) December 19, 2021
It is the first time in NFL HISTORY, a team with 1 win or fewer beat a 10+ win team by double-digits. pic.twitter.com/lgWEUvZZlR
