AA will likely be the listed starter come regular season too. He's very good vs the run. You list your base as the starters.

Under Kocurek none of this will matter since both will get enough snaps to keep them fresh.

Yep. Where it does matter is which one we keep long term as I don't think we will or can keep both

Niners also worked on some backed-up situations today, starting from inside their own 5. Aside from a nice burst between the tackles from Tevin Coleman, the defense got better of offense there. That included a would-be safety from DL Solomon Thomas.

I think a lot of people are more hyped that his mental health is improved as much as anything. Crazy to hear from him that he was thinking suicide last season because of his sister. I didn't know it was that bad.

That and the fact that he's likely going to play inside on pass downs with a line of Buckner, Ford and Bosa around him.

I don't know how many snaps he's gotten with those guys in camp so far but I'm still very much excited to see that DL out there on obvious pass situations...just need all of these guys to stay healthy damnit!

1) Niners believe new DL coach Kris Kocurek can be a difference-maker for a unit with 5 1st-rounders. In particular, Solomon Thomas has benefitted from looks that get him upfield more often. He may never live up to his draft spot. But SF thinks he can be a disruptive presence.

That's great news! I really hope he can become a premier inside pass rusher. If not, I hope he at least proves he can contribute to this roster as a high level rotational player.
