Why didn't he play last night?

Good question, as far as I can tell, he's not dealing with any injury. Thomas isn't a guy who should be getting these vet games off when he hasn't proven himself.

Tend to agree. Was hoping to see him get a lot of snaps against the cowboy OL last night

Ditto. I thought Thomas was sure to get some action during preseason. 10-20 snaps. He needs the reps.

All the valuable (expected high contributing) players didn't play last night unless there was a shortage in numbers at a position (why T.Moore had to play all night). 28 players...long list.

But yeah, I would have liked to not only see him play but watch where he lined up.

if anyone should have played. if he was not hurt. he should have been him. do not tell me. that means they are just giving him a roster spot, with all our injuries. and him having something to prove, he needs to be out there

I texted Kyle, he's addressing your concern.

To play devil's advocate, with a few exceptions, last night's showing by the backup defense wasn't too hot. So, it may be a good idea to give the top 6 DL a day off if they are the key to success this season.
There's all this talk about how we should expect to see a different Solomon this year, yet nothing has been said or written about his performance thus far in camp?! Pro or con. Wonder why? Has he been underwhelming yet again, or are we in for a pleasant surprise? I, for one, can't wait to find out. Frankly, I'm rooting for the guy, for his and the team's sake.
Agree with everyone, he should have played.
Maybe he's been so good and dominant that there's no need to play him. He's been an unstoppable force in practice and they're waiting till the regular season to unleash him.

No? Ok.

I thought about that too. Maybe he's been solid? If he looked terrible, there would've been reports. If he looked great, you figure there would've been reports. Perhaps he's doing nothing to stand out, simply doing his job, but not making any significant plays.

He hasn't been Bosa or Buckner in camp but he's gotten his blurbs of showing good things. Hasn't been as consistent as I'd like but then again he hasn't gotten many looks on the same DL with Bosa, Buckner and Ford...which is why most of us are excited for what he can show this year.
