Not sure why people are making it sound like there hasn't been a peep about Solomon in camp. Have people not been reading? There are plenty of reports out there about what he's been doing in camp. I read every one of the recaps and I've heard multiple mentions about him getting sacks or pressures. Even in this thread you'll find the tweets about him logging a safety and another report that even McGlinchey was struggling to block him from the edge, of all places.

The positive news is there, but I think folks need to take the blinders off and stop choosing not to see it. Allow yourself some hope and happiness, guys, it's okay.

I definitely wish he was getting more hype similar to what Bosa was getting before his injury but outside of him it seemed like the hype for the DL has quieted down a bit but it's still there.

Sully has gotten his bits of good news here and there. Not something you want to hear from a #3 overall pick but it is what it is. Plus interior DL play isn't as easy to write about unless they're getting pressure or TFLs. In games an interior lineman can have a terrific game without any of the splash plays.

But I agree I think people clearly put blinders on and see what they want to see. If it's not being screamed out there by ESPN/NFL Network apparently it's not happening.

I mean, there's 90 players in camp, so I don't expect them to talk about every Solly play every day. You don't hear as much about Buck either but that doesn't mean he's not doing well. Just my two cents.

Because the topic of mental illness has come up in this thread multiple times, I would like to make a general statement for the thread:

Mental illness is a disease just like diabetes or cancer. It is frequently genetically linked. It isn't something that you "just get over." It requires specialized care that commonly involves medication as well as ongoing counseling, both for the person being treated as well as the family and support group around the person. Understanding on the part of those indirectly impacted is just as important as the direct treatment of the individual. (I can well imagine that Solomon Thomas has been involved in all of the above.)

Mental illness has been called the most misunderstood serious illness in America. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) recently started a campaign to correct this misunderstanding called Stopping the Stigma. A central part of that campaign is to educate the public on the danger and the harm of uninformed statements about the disease. Such statements are more than "not helpful," they can be destructive on multiple levels.

I say all this because there have been instances in this thread where exchanges have occurred that have been hurtful, even inflammatory to people who have had, or are having to deal with this illness in their personal life. We must stay away from these kinds of comments, as innocently or ignorantly (Iacking in knowledge) as they may be.

Let's bring the WZ up to a new level of understanding and civility on a matter that is of much more significance than just football. OK?

I'm sure Kyle has all four games scripted as to who is going to play in which games and why. For me, it was worth seeing Moore and Street get extended playing time to see if they are serious roster candidates or not. We know Thomas is but who else remains to be seen.

It is very helpful for coaches to sort out some of the camp fodder from the candidates early in the process. That clearly seemed to be the focus yesterday with so many players inactive.

I haven't heard anything about him in camp I've googled it a few times and the only thing that ever comes up is everyone talking about his mentality now. I don't think I follow as closely as other though.

Has there been anything said about him this week?

Lots of good practice reports over Thomas' career. Don't care until he consistently does it in games. He has burned people's optimism so frequently, I'm sure many just want to see him do it sustainably in real life.
