Thomas played very well in week 2. Which is why I've been MIA in this thread.

This. And Moore went out too. So all 4 of our ER's were out...hence Thomas and Street and AA, etc. out at DE again. Tighter W9 and SNICKEL.

I genuinely hope the personnel was why. Because if it's not, Saleh should be fired on the spot.

Kocurek: Cool, it looks like everything is in place for a smooth transition to wide 9.

Saleh: One last thing. What if, hear me out, we go wide 9 AND snickel.

Kocurek: What the f**k is a snickel?

Just saw this.

19:15 mark for people.

Good to see Sully with more passion this year. Get that mean streak out of him.

Kyle Shanahan said flat out yesterday that Solly played really well in the game &more importantly he's done the same thing in all of training camp. That's Kyle Shanahan, head coach is the SF 49ers of the NFL of which there's only 32 of those jobs in the world. I think I'll trust his opinion & statement. Looking forward to seeing Solly on the field in the regular season.

Lmao
C'mon now... can't believe everything these coaches say.
This is the same Kyle that said "you can go to war with Jimmie Ward"

I mean, coaches ain't gonna publicly bash players, as it should be.

"can't believe everything these coaches say"...unless it proves my point right?

It's not like Shanahan was telling us something that's happening behind the scenes. Unless you're biased anyone watching the game could see Thomas played well.

The coach saying the same thing as many fans who watched the game isn't coach speak. It's just calling it like it is.

Not trying to prove a point with ST.
I still think it's absolutely ridiculous that this staff plays him out of position, even in a preseason game.

I believe If ST was left inside he could do some damage.
Maybe not 3rd pick damage, but some good things for us.
I have nothing bad to say about ST. We took him at 3rd (which was to high.. hindsight) but I definitely want him to succeed.
Now I keep reading the title of this thread as Sal-mon Thomas.

Gotta think about it for what is needed for the season - if the Top 4 edge rushers are unavailable in a regular season game too then Solly will be asked to play edge in their place. So he needs some reps their as well. Obviously a terrible worst case scenario, but not a total impossibility. It's like having McGlinchey play RG in an emergency situation like last year in Minnesota.

It's pronounced Sammon Tho-mas actually.
This man deserves some props after tonight's game
Stats were not an accurate representation of what he was doing.

Really pulling for him this year

I understand why they keep putting him at de but at some point I hope he gets opportunities inside
At least we know he can't cover a RB.

Hopefully Saleh knows that now.

Yeah I want to say It's because Ford and Bosa is out. He does look better at DE too, but still belongs inside

Probably is but still dumb . Hey let's not let him get valuable reps inside because we need him on the edge since all our starters are out, so we can win these important pre season games.
Bosa - Buckner - Thomas - Ford
Moore - Jones/Taylor - Day - Armstead/Street

Someone's getting cut/traded
