Tough game to analyze much but once the all22 is out I'd like to see how he did.

The lining up offsides chit needs to end. Nick and Solly been taking the wrong things from Ford's game.

Told you bruh. They see him as a DE. Nothing they have done sense he's been here should make you believe he's getting inside reps. And its not just AA. Day Buck and Jones are all ahead of him. At best hes the 5th interior d lineman. Unless somebody gets hurt he'll get about 10 DE snaps a game and that's about it

You called it!

So do I. I don't want to find out that our 3rd overall pick was a bust. But man, it's not looking good.

Looking like a very very poor selection with the 3rd pick. Problem he's not quick enough for an undersized lineman and not big enough to be a run stuffing mauler. At best he's a decent backup lineman that will give the starters a quick blow and then he's back on the sidelines.

Not getting a good vibe on him. I think the coaching staff realizes they made a mistake and they've already moved on from Solly.

That's the thing. Couldn't the GM and coaching staff have seen that he was undersized to be picked #3 overall?

Just kinda annoying that we have to go through these trial-and-error picks with an inexperienced GM. I mean, we are the 5 time Superbowl champs. We shouldn't be experimenting on inexperienced GMs. Leave that s**t to Cleveland and Jacksonville.

#3 overall pick needs to be catered to and still can't make plays when everything lines up right for him

You've made it pretty clear your thoughts on Thomas and you may be right about him being a failure but everything lines up right for him? He's not getting any snaps inside and everyone who thought he could revive his career expected him to play inside now that we have proper edge guys.

So no everything isn't lining up right for him...

Coaches must feel that AA, DJ and Day are better options. Not to mention that J.Taylor got some snaps at DT during the game. D.Moore over ST. At least he is better at DE than ST.

Regardless, he has not been played where he fits best so claiming everything is lining up right for him is incorrect.

As for the reasons the coaches have that's another story. One thing is for sure they claim he's a better fit inside but don't play him there. That's very frustrating when you use a 3rd overall pick on a guy then play him where you claim isn't his ideal spot...and where he clearly doesn't play like a first round pick let alone a top 3 pick.
If he weren't slower than molasses, he could slim down and play line backer....but he's slow as molasses :(

I understand your point. My point is, they won't play him inside because he falls short of the others I mentioned.

I'm thinking this pretty much sums it up
This coaching staff has consistently tried to make him something he's not(a outside pass rusher). Put him inside along side Buckner on passing downs and let him go to work. Ford,Thomas,Buckner and Bosa on obvious passing downs.

The players that we passed up to select this loser is just depressing to think about.

That should haunt Lynch. I just don't think Solomon will ever be a good player in the NFL.

This kind of thought process is why Lynch is where he is and you are where you are.

Its so weird I can't understand it. He clearly struggles on the edge to get any pressure whatsoever. He was drafted because he was a beast inside, yet we refuse to play him there. I'm not saying he'd be a probowler, but he might at least become better than average. Very odd.

Yeah its absurd. You can look at how Thomas is even built and he looks like an inside rusher. Way out of place on the edge.

It's the Saleh special. Instead of playing to the player's strength, he plays them to their weakness.

Just thought to myself, maybe the coaches felt Armstead was a better matchup against the the Bucs RG than Thomas woulda been? Armstead was wrecking that dude so maybe they are playing matchups on the line.

We'll see what they do this week. But if they continue not to play Thomas inside then they must not like him there. I can understand that, but I cant understand how they figure he's any better on the outside.
