Yes. He would be if he were a starter.

Many fans don't seem to get that production is directly tied to playing time.

When Thomas gets 40+ snaps per game at DT the way Buckner does and fails to put up similar or better numbers, then come talk to me about how he's a bust.

Exactly. Players dont get better unless they play. Some guys excel right out the gate ( Bosa) others take some time to develop ( AA). Unfortunately, for ST he was played out of position for a couple of years, then we signed Ford and Bosa at the same time AA matured. Just a bad situation
With all the attention that Buckner, Ford, Bosa and now even AA get, it is shocking a #2 overall pick can't even make one game changing play.
The dead of his sister doomed any chance he could focus and become a serviceable player. He's a bust and we need to move on from this dude in the off-season non factor whatsoever
He'd be okay for UFA. Unless he resigns for cheap, he'll be gone.
Never seen the goalposts move so much for a player. Before the season so many people were saying he was gonna be great this season yet this coaching staff who has created a top 3 defense and a head coach who has the top 1 or 2 team in the entire nfl doesnt know much and decides to give st limited snaps because they dont know what they are doing and st is a stud
I'm not counting ST out yet. He will play for at least another year since he is on a rookie contract.

I seem to remember the majority of posters here calling AA a major bust and a waste of a pick, myself included.

I am willing to give ST another full season before making a determination on his draft status. I think Kocurek (sp?) can get more out of him.

No no no. He was talking about st so he was saying have less standards
He is healthy, which is more than half the DL can say. This would be a great time for him to go on a tear.

And, if AA leaves next year - Solly will probably take his spot.
After AA and Ward showing up late, better late than never. I'm willing to wait for Solly to show up too. At least we're getting some kind of production from Solly early on unlike AA and Ward before.

Hope it doesn't come to that. I was no fan of AA from the time he was drafted until this year. With that said, every year coaches raved about the guy. Similar to Jimmy Ward. I don't recall such talk about Thomas (who I was a fan of). I'm not optimistic that he suddenly makes the jump in year 4.

Exactly. The fact that we have so many injuries to our line and Lynch comes out and says that Kentavius Street will get the opportunities and not Thomas is very telling. Well, telling to everyone except for one poster. We have injury after injury to our line, and this guy still cant be more than a rotational player. Says all that needs to be said.

Uh, what? Lynch said no such thing. He said - with regards to Street coming off IR - that he'll get an opportunity. Meaning an opportunity to play some. Which he hasn't had. Because he has been IR.

I mean, really?

Thomas will likely be the starting NT with Jones out. Although they may rotate Day in there (who is a liability) because they also think Thomas is their 2nd best active DE now and he can't be in two places at once.

Thomas already started 2 games at NT this year when Jones was out. But don't let that get in the way of your agenda.

Does anyone in this thread even common sense anymore?
