Please. Falcons have the s**ttiest rush offense. Solomon Thomas is trash.
Just to reiterate. DJ Jones was a sixth round pick and is effective. Albeit Thomas plays a different position, he just is so quiet during games. A mid round pick in next draft should be able to replace him. Also I feel our dline is wearing down. We need Ford back to make the rush much more effective. Hoping by the Hawk game would be great. Suggs would be the ultimate pickup to spell Bosa and Ford.

RBs add virtually nothing. They get similar production out of Mostert, who is a journeyman UDFA special teams guy.

Huge Mostert fan, but similar production as McCaffrey? Laughable.

Why the f**k was Solomon in on that final play? I almost threw myself off the damn rafters at Levi's stadium out of frustration from watching Solomon ineptly rush right into the center of the right tackle and stay there for the entirety of the play.

Wouldn't have mattered Ward was going to let Julio Jones get wide open irregardless.

I should have phrased that differently. They can get similar production out of Mostert. Kyle doesn't feature individual running backs the way the Panthers feature McCaffrey, however.

The 49ers are 2nd in the NFL in rushing yards. Taking a running back does not help this team.

I know man... he's so garbage. Get him tf outta here.

We miss DJ Jones
Saw him on the edge late in the game

Again, a Saleh special. Thomas is not an edge but he loves to go there... like Shanny has a blind spot for Celek.

Yep, I wanted Kaden over Celek too.

Honest question.

Is Solomon Thomas even a replacement level player? Would he be on the field...even with the injuries...if he was an UDFA?

No. No they don't. D.J. Jones was the one guy they didn't miss. Nose guard play was good yesterday. Even Day played better than usual.

What they miss is Dee Ford. Thomas is being forced to once again play out of position because the coaches consider him better there than the other available players.

And another thing I want to note is how it's absolutely ludicrous how Thomas gets attacked by clueless fans because he has a six pack instead of a fat gut that hangs over his belt buckle. Thanks to being in superior shape to 99% of DTs in the league, clueless fans call him a "tweener." If he had less of a work ethic and just sat around stuffing his face, nobody would be calling him a "tweener."

And thanks to his freakish athleticism, coaches hinder his individual performance (for what they believe is for the good of the team) because he's better than the other available edge guys after the injuries to Ford and Blair.

On a bad team
If you only saw a second or two of Solomon Thomas at the moment the ball is snapped when he's at nose during yesterday's game, you'd think he's a baller. He consistently gets off, resets the LOS and creates pushback.

But after that, the second half of the play is extremely disappointing. Struggles to get free if he's hooked or make a play on the ball once he's in the backfield. He needs to learn how to finish.

And for the love of god, please stop lining him up at edge. It's a waste of a spot on the field. I don't understand why they insisted on lining him up at edge on the final drive when they could have simply switched he and AA and had AA at edge and Solly inside.

I agree on finishing...in pass rush. It seems to be a problem with flexibility. He can beat a guard to the edge better than most, but he doesn't seem to have the hip flexibility to get leverage and bend it to the QB. He'll win and then the guard will recover. I don't know if there's something he can do in his training to improve that, or if it's a genetic limitation.

That's also where I actually wish he were a couple inches shorter. If he were the height of Sheldon Day, Aaron Donald, or D.J. Jones, look out. Shortness is an asset for interior d-linemen, which doesn't show up on the amateur scouting reports. Not only is it huge for leverage, but they usually have better body control.
I wish he wasn't a steaming pile of dog s**t.
