Thomas hasn't been on goal line all year and when he finally does he gives up a TD.
Saying Thomas was the third best player on the defense isn't saying much considering how bad I thought we played overall.
But if you think he's playing better than AA then you're either directly related to Thomas or you seriously need glasses.
Thomas just never uses his hands.we have extreme example of a player that uses his hands every play (Bosa) and one that never does (Thomas) yet people really can't see why Thomas is playing as poorly as he has?
Huge downgrade from Jones/Taylor to Thomas and I think we have seen that represented on the recent games scoreboard.
Tbh I was planning on not even posting in this thread anymore because people we're starting to see what I've said for year's and it's the same reason why I haven't posted in Bosa thread for a while... people understand the skillset of Bosa now.
I still don't think people in here understand what they are seeing with Thomas.
Hes not effective on the edge passrushing or run stopping. He's not great at getting off blocks from the interior (even if he's in position) and he may be the worst pass rusher I've seen with his body type. I could understand if you're 330 and can't move well... but dear God use a swipe move or use a rip move for once while not falling on your face. He continues to try to bull rush and hes not overpowering anyone in the NFL besides Ethan Pocic of the seahawks.
No matter how much I hate him as a player I don't hate him as a person or for being on this team. But if you can't see the dropoff we have had when relying on him I seriously question everything you know about football. I'm out. Seriously done with this thread.

So you're saying he might have a good game next week? Because we're going to need it. Edit. D looks like Seattle replaced Pocic.

What a SHAME when you waste a #3 pick on a scrub.
I seriously wonder if Thomas could play on the offensive line.

Was nice to see him have a pretty good game. He needs to more consistently create pressure though. We already know he's solid against the run, but we need him to produce as a pass rusher more.

He had some really nice plays last night and was active in the backfield. Definitely a high motor guy if given more chances. Everyone wants him to be a "pass rusher," but that's not him. He's more of a disruptive force, sure tackler, beats his man quick and is into the backfield to blow up the run and pressure QBs. Watch last nights game from the start, that's what he does. He's just not a fat dude that sits there and eats space.
I can see why coaches are a little hard pressed to use him. He doesn't have a " hold the point of attack" playing style, but he's also not a great finishing pass rusher. It's kind of like Bosa without the finishing move or closing speed on the QBs..

Then based on that Buckner was no better and has not been for a couple of weeks. Thomas was more disruptive than Buckner this week for sure and so many keep saying Buckner is top 3 to 5 which he is not this year. I have been a pretty big basher of Thomas play and he wasn't great yesterday but he was solid and had a couple of disruptive plays and a couple more he needed to finish better.

I can't believe with all these defensive linemen hurt and rushers hurt he still gives us nothing. Just unbelievable. We spent the #3 overall pick on him. What a wasted of a pick. When we need him and the whole team is hurt he gives us absolutely nothing. This guy is a joke. Where we picked him is just sick.

Disruptive force...no
sure tackler...no
beats his man quick...yea, no
blows up the run and pressure QB....thats gonna be a no from me dawg.
You just described exactly what we all THOUGHT ST would be. Thats definitely not what he is at this point in his career. Look how low the bar has been set for him. He had one highlight play, the TFL, and thats got people saying he had a pretty good game. When a TFL from a 3rd year player who was the 3rd overall pick is one of the few highlights from his entire season thus far, thats pretty sad.

Dang, how can I forget about Freeney? I may stand corrected. I'll just use the excuse that I saw more NFC games than AFC games Lol

I don't know what else to tell you but to get a DVR and rewatch the game sober.
