Worst 49ers draft pick of all time

Oh really? Just to pick a few names. AJ Jenkins. Kentwan Balmer. Rashaun Woods. Kwaeme Harris. Reggie McGrew. Jim Druckenmiller. Dexter Carter.

So, no.
the worst number ones for our team are all the ones we never had thanks to oj. i liked him but we also gave up to much for plunkett

56.3 isnt mediocre dough.

Jus sayin

What is everyone else's grade on the Dline? Is his grade that much lower than the others?

BOSA 88 armstead 90 buckner 78 shaldon day 60 julian taylor 68 dj jones 68 damontre moore 75 ronald blair 78 dee ford 85 kentavious street 64

sheldon day was pick #103 in round four of the 2016 draft.

Thomas was the #3 pick of the 2017 draft

He's more of a disruptive force, sure tackler, beats his man quick and is into the backfield to blow up the run and pressure QBs. Watch last nights game from the start, that's what he does. He's just not a fat dude that sits there and eats space.

I can see why coaches are a little hard pressed to use him. He doesn't have a " hold the point of attack" playing style, but he's also not a great finishing pass rusher. It's kind of like Bosa without the finishing move or closing speed on the QBs..

That's kind of what I figured he would be. A guy that can penetrate the line fast or if you remember the play where Donald got around Brunskill so fast before he could really get his hands on him. I am not saying Solomon is Donald, but I figured he could've been a real disrupter. A guy who could get into the backfield, forcing running backs to alter where they cut, forcing QBs to not be able to step up in the pocket, and that another D lineman could just clean up. He's got to work on getting his speed and power married where they become assets.

I don't look at pff grades as the be all, end all, but some of this is pretty damning. If he were behind Bosa, Armstead, Ford, and Buckner, that would be one thing. It's like, "okay, he rates worse than the other 1st round picks..no biggie." But the others too? Smh.

With so much positive stuff going on, why would real fans pick at things like how Solomon played or not? Did you not see the W against the rams on Sat nite? Cripes, It amazes me that some fans just can't focus on the good...and seem to gravitate toward the bad. I feel bad for fans like that. This is a Cinderella season and yet we have complainers here working on the negative. Why not appreciate the positive?

Excellent post.

I do my best to totally ignore their posts. I see who wrote them and don't bother reading.

IMO, those people are part of the "Cup is ALWAYS Half-Empty" crowd.

Debbie Downers

Don't waste your precious time on them.

Agreed.

Keep grinding solly. here's to happy holidays and a productive 2020.

Buck had 7 QB pressures, how many did ST?

Exactly this.

The only problem is his style would be most effective in the middle (imo), but AA is playing lights out and Buck is needed for double teams. Unforntatley, he's just an odd man out at the moment.

I read that he had 8 pressures in 7 pass rush snaps, BEAST!

None of those guys were top 3 picks. When you're selecting in the top 3 you're expected to get a blue chip player, Soloman isn't even close. It was a bad pick when it happened, and it's even worse now.

So, yuhh

Can't deny any of what you said in terms of expectations, but Id take Thomas over all of those guys. Thomas looks like a role player right now. The other guys didn't even belong in the league.
When i think of who we could have had instead of Thomas and Foster, ugh. Safe to say Lynch blew that round big time. I only hope he has learned something.

And both were #2 and #3 on their big board. Yikes.
