I'd be surprised if he restructures his deal. Especially if it's all guaranteed. He will never sniff $9M again. Not much incentive to give up immediate guaranteed money. Money paid now goes to work for you faster than money paid later.

AA can lineup anywhere now.

He may get a crazy offer in FA though. It may come down to a choice between signing AA this year or Buckner next year. Might be time trade Solly to someone that will take his $9M off the books.

You only get half his money off the books in a trade. The signing bonus is already baked in.

I thought Solly showed up a little this game. For sure more inside than outside.
I WONDER if San Diego will take both Bucko and Aweak for their Bosa??

No!

Seriously, he will not walk. There will be enough room to sign him and others. The restructuring of Richburg's contract is but one step in that process.

They can extend both.

Buckner is under contract for another season. There is no rush to get him done this offseason. Ample space opens up in 2021 to franchise if need be.

People are acting like Buckner is a UFA

Yeah that's gonna be a hard pass for me.

Have to give credit, Solly played really well last night.

He's really starting to shine when he's on the inside.

I don't think we will and I don't think we should.

I'm confident that the FO can work it out.

His 2020 guarantee is $4,300,000. His cap number is $8.9M, includes roster bonus and other incentives. They could extend him without him losing money. In the end, if he stays, and plays the way he has in the past couple of games, he will be worth it.

He's playing with more confidence and he did a good job getting some pressure and playing contain with Russell Wilson scrambles.

Sure you could extend, but if you have pretty large contracts for Bosa (rookie deal but #2 pick money), Buckner, Armstead, DJ Jones (contract year), Ford, and a potential 3rd edge guy...why extend Solomon Thomas if you can replicate his production and impact with a cheaper player (e.g. Street fingers crossed).
