Let's assume I got a non-stop motor as well. Who cares if I am not a good football player?
Niners have a few players that they've been carrying for 2 or 3 years that need to start showing why. Thomas, Pettis, and Taylor need to start playing football.

This!
lets turn him into an offensive lineman
Thomas actually didnt play bad against the Cardinals, he was drawing double teams more of what Kinlaw should be doing, watch film and see what he did. The hate is astronomical but as an interior DL his play wont always result in sacks, so we have to throw that out of the window. I was watching a clip of Baldy breaking down Bosa and Thomas stood out on some plays.

There wasn't one example of ST taking on a double team on this clip.

Didn't he have like a 41 grade too?

Hmmm...he'd probably be a really good C in this system. If Ben Garland can do it...

didnt say the double teams were on this clip I said to watch him, this clips shows some of the action that doesnt show up on the stat sheet. Watch he starts at the guard sheds the guard causing the center to have to help, the point is it disrupt the interior :15 sec mark, rides the guard sheds him causing the back to change direction towards the rest of the pursuit, they(Cards) are running an outside zone play 1:16 second Kinlaw vs the same guard Thomas at 1:30 what does he do? so again you are missing the point, these type of plays will never show up on the stat sheet however the effectiveness will be realized once.

And he only makes 9 million a year for this? Now that's value for money.

Its his rookie option relax, its not like he signed a 5 yr $80 million deal, he knows his play will be indicative of his pay come this offseason. The thing with Thomas is settling him in his position inside and let him continue to grow. I remember a similar sentiment about a certain DE many thought was a bust, however he improved each year maybe not on the stat sheet which some hold as the ultimate testament but in reality he did his job and became a better player in Arik Armstead. And when you look at this game, the defense played well, if it werent for a blocked punt and some iffy PI and ruffing the passer calls they played well. The issue I have is with coaching knowing they are only throwing to Hopkins when they throw or Murray is going to run and our D-Coordinator didnt seem to have a counter punch for that. To summarize this is game 1 of the season Thomas will be fine or he wont.
