He's just a bad player. A bust. No sugar coating it with excuses. Glad he and Witherspoon are gone. Liabilities on the field
What a stupid pick from the get go, dude never was even worth the 3rd overall, if he didn't go to Stanford and had a class with Lynch he wouldn't have been taken there. Rookie GM mistake at the time
da Raiders with their "commitment to excrement "
I hope for the best with him. He's a good guy but this is a business ain't ain't wasn't even close to living u to the 3rd overall pick. I was really against the pick at the time as many were and we were right
Can we move this thread to NFL talk?

He was literally ranked in the top 5 in every ranking I've seen. I don't understand why that is so hard to comprehend for some of you.

Was okay with him on a $3m deal but $5m is too much. Hope he does well.

How about the fact that it was a redundant pick? If the Chargers had the 3rd pick this season, you think they would draft Zack Wilson? He's literally ranked in the top 5 in every ranking I have seen.

Hopefully they have learned what traits in dlineman are successful in our system and draft players accordingly moving forward. As for Solly best of luck to him with the Raiders.

Totally agree, and best of luck to him. At least he actually played and contributed vs AJ Jenkins who was really a person that should not have been drafted at all. Glad they fired the scout and fired Baalke who drafted AJ Jenkins.

It's apparently easier for people to believe that a first time HC and GM would select someone at #3 overall that wasn't ranked top 5 by virtually everyone and only select him because he was in some class with the GM at one point.

At the time, AA looked like a bust. We had no edge and they thought the guy could be Michael Bennett. Terrible comp with Wilson. As good as Buckner was his rookie year, neither looked as good as Herbert year 1. Plus..you only need one QB on the field at the time. Some of these takes are as bad as the decision to draft Thomas that people won't let go. They didn't pick up his 3rd year option. They didn't renew his contract. Its over.

I think early on ShanaLynch missed the mental portion of the draft, in a sense. I mean physically, Solomon should do well. He has all the physicsl tools to play in the NFL, but mentally he doesn't have the fire that DJ Jones, Deebo, and Ayiuk have. Hes more similar to Pettis in my view, mentally.

I think ShanaLynch is doing much better scouting the mental dimensions of their potential draftees now. No more Reubens, Solomons, and Pettis' in the 2020 draft that I could see.

We had a need for a big DE and has was BPA. He was a tweener who just didn't work out. End of story.
