How about the fact that it was a redundant pick? If the Chargers had the 3rd pick this season, you think they would draft Zack Wilson? He's literally ranked in the top 5 in every ranking I have seen.

We had a need for a big DE and has was BPA. He was a tweener who just didn't work out. End of story.

He wasnt a big DE. Thanks.

that year they needed everything except for DT and LT. Jamal Adams, Watson, Lattimore, all of them were legit top 10 prospects that year and all would've filled.
If they didn't beat the Rams it'd have been Myles Garrett instead of Solly.

That's pretty anal. QB's don't get rotated in and out of the game every other series, do they?

What a stupid pick from the get go, dude never was even worth the 3rd overall, if he didn't go to Stanford and had a class with Lynch he wouldn't have been taken there. Rookie GM mistake at the time

It's apparently easier for people to believe that a first time HC and GM would select someone at #3 overall that wasn't ranked top 5 by virtually everyone and only select him because he was in some class with the GM at one point.
This ^^ Imagine a GM and former all pro safety being influenced by draft guru's rankings to make a top 3 pick lol

Anal? Lol. You get the point. We had soooo many needs that offseason. A DT was not one of the main ones.

He was 275 coming out of college. We wanted a Big DE clone like Seattle had. You're Welcome.

And to further prove my point, he line up on the edge 71% of the time his rookie year. He was immediately put behind Tank Carradine on the depth chart too. It's quite clear they thought he could be a big end.

One of the biggest busts in recent franchise history.

I tell you what, let's just say he won't be missed.
Solomon Thomas had that monster Bowl Game against North Carolina and Mitch Trubisky. Fellow Stanford grad John Lynch thought the Niners had the next great defensive tackle. Turns out he was below par and it was evident after his second year the Niners blew the draft pick.
So sad for Solly it just didn't work out here
My condolences for his sister. That's a tragedy for any family no matter how hard you slice it. She was a beautiful young woman too. Good luck in Vegas Solly. You're the only Raider I'll root for.

SAD, sometimes, not even full effort is not enough !!

good luck SOLO !!!
HE GONE!
He's a great kid I believe he will do well
Dude never bothered me. Wish him well.
Class guy. Sorry he couldn't make it here. Wish him luck unless he is lining up against us.
