They hung in and never gave up.

Never gave up but they were still below average. The moves we made between the DL and LB core we didn't need to waste a pick on another DL that early in the draft. Now what exactly have we done to assure that we won't give up 400 yards a game on the back end. Outside of Reid we have not one true starter in the secondary
This guy seems a little clean cut and polite to be the beast we need on the line.

Anyone else kind of feel the same way?

Calm down, they just used Marathe's trade chart and Jed probably just greeted ST on the phone after the pick was made.

The same trade chart Baalke used?

Unlesss the QB turns it to be a FQB, the trade looks awesome.

it doesn't matter. when you have a dominant dline, it makes your secondary look good. just ask the Giants in their SB win how many all pro secondary guys they had.

Ok so your logic is to go with a DL in the first round every year until u get it right. Gotcha
How does this guy get dumber the more he watches and writes about football

Seriously, it is like we are talking about two different teams.

Again with the ridiculously self-serving representations. This is silly.

Why is this so hard to understand? Its clear that certain people in this thread just want to complain because they didn't get their way.

Consider the source....Cohn isn't known for having any football knowledge. Acquiring 2 thirds and a a fourth for moving down 1 spots gets the pick an A. Cohn just illustrated he doesn't grasp how important DL rotation is. Not surprising to be honest.

If that's the standard then there are no need for good DB's.

My man, Grant Cohn. True, steady, and always one step behind, one goof up after another. At least you can say...he is consistent....consistently wrong.

I'm just pissed we didn't take Andrew Luck or Calvin Johnson @ 2. They were both available, right?

I'm considering the possibility that we who aren't horrified by this pick are totally irrational along with the new coach and GM.
