Not at all. Because team needs are not priority. So DL depth is all that matters.

it doesn't matter. when you have a dominant dline, it makes your secondary look good. just ask the Giants in their SB win how many all pro secondary guys they had.

If that's the standard then there are no need for good DB's.

Why is this so hard to understand? Its clear that certain people in this thread just want to complain because they didn't get their way.

They were in the top 6-8 maybe, but surely weren't the 2nd best player in the draft. Solomon was...er..#3 pick as we got the #2 pick plus an extra rd 3 and 4, both high, and a rd 3 next yr. And you think that is not the best player/pak we could have gotten? Wow, how we could have done better than that, i have no idea. We done great, a solid A. With the 3 extra picks, make it an A+ Ok, gotta give CHI a hand in making this an even better pick...but great job by Lynch. Great pick, best pick available for us. An IMPACT /all pro potential DL? Cripes you can't turn that down. Terrific pick, incredible valu for the pak.
I love lynch. Great job.
You don't select the best player available when the position of that player is a position that is deep on your depth chart. You select the player as just as good as him but at a position of need. I will never understand this.
Don't get me wrong, if he turns out great I will eat my crow with a smile and a full stomach, but this is one of those picks that seems like an attempt to be seen in a particular image
You select the best player available when you are 2-14....the fact that you are 2-14 speaks that there really are not any areas of undraftable players. Now when you factor in that the best player available is one at an absolute premium position which DL is, then it's a no brainer.

Sam Madison was a 4 time Pro Bowler on the 07 team, Rolle was a 3 time Pro Bowler on the 11 team but overall the Giants had the most fluke @ Super Bowls of all time. 6th seed both times. It's why the either get hot and win it all are at home watching the playoffs with 8 wins.

The question still stands. Where are the strong DBs on the roster that would warrant a strong focus on DL and no attention to the secondary?
