he doesn't like the fact that we went DL 3 years in a row.

2 things, !st just cause you explain your thinking does not change what the words oxymoron, need-based, or BPA mean. It is still an oxymoron.

2nd, I understand your stance and I can see the thinking, however, I disagree. If the colts had taken a QB of the Future the year before they draft luck would they have not still taken luck then traded one away for good capital (See NE).

I could understand that a team might set up their board to have players that are fairly even and rank the need higher, however, if there is a clear Best Player Available you take them.
there is no use in taking a bpa that would be on the bench for years.
I don't get the comparison between your Luck-scenario and that at NE. the letter has to prepare itself for a future after Brady, the former would not have a lot of credit in an post-draft trade because everyone knows that either luck or the other young qb is a goner.
therefore you trade down during the draft or you pick need-based bpa. both of these alternatives are superior.

After watching his press conference I'm more pumped about this pick. You can tell he's a natural born leader

The trade was great and I like the player but it seems as if the same positions are being neglected as were neglected under Baalke.
So, in a draft with a weak crop of quarterbacks, we should reach for one? No thanks, that sounds like a terrible way to build a team.

Plus, as hondakillerzx, we still have premium picks available. We could still draft a WR tonight.
F**CK YEA boys and girls!! The Force ghosts of Justin Smith and Bryant Young have just reincarnated themselves into the form of Solomon Thomas.

I like Fournette as well, great player. yet, would have hated the Niners if picked him. need-based bpa to me is Jamal.

i get you then. i feel the same way about Jamal. i do like the ST pick, but imo Jamal will be that once in a generation talent.

If it wasn't for the extra picks we fleeced out of CHI I would puke. Should have taken Fournette, not because RB is a need but because that kid is going to be the best player out of this class.

Foster is solid but we still need a CB!

Didn't you hear? We are drafting from front to back....next up, CB. Then next, S. However, if an edge Rusher comes up as BPA, watch us take him first.

Same goes for WR, QB, OG/OC, and so on. This is being done based on what two sharp guys deem is our biggest need and then if a great deal comes along at BPA, well, there you go.

I don't mind picking DL 3 year in a row...this guy looks like the real deal...I don't trust Armstead will ever come around and live up to that first round pick...

his arm was messed up all year and he was still decent. hes still young and now he has talent around him. give him a chance
Always love these types of vids.

He needs to s**t all over Willow
You know who he reminds me of? Not just his size, play but even his mannerism.... Justin Smith!
Feels good to wake up and be reminded that this ass-kicker is part of our team.

I'm still so friggin happy about this draft it's nuts. The Beathard pick was a bit puzzling but I said any QB that we pick will have my support and hold off any doubt because of Kyle Shanahan.

But Thomas, Foster and Witherspoon and basically a 2nd and 3rd rounders next year???
