EXACTLY!! Is that the answer? Draft the same position in the first round til we get it right?

One dude's opinion and you keep reposting it like Gospell Truth. When I look for people with credibility, I don't look at Biderman, he's a copy and paste hack.

Solomon Thomas, another 1st round DL for 9ers, but he fits new scheme. 9ers got their guy and jacked 3 extra picks.

Another defensive END.

Different defense bro.

So they needed to redraft the position they used their two previous first round picks on or he will play with and compliment the past two first round picks?

DE in a 3-4 and DE in a 4-3 are two different positions. Buckner and Armstead came in as 3-4 DE's. Thomas comes in as a 4-3 DE and a DT in nickel, different players.

He's better than both of them.

He's absolutely not redundant. He's a pass rusher and extremely versatile

Who is we? You have an entirely new regime in place. What Baalke did before them is largely irrelevant, especially if they don't see certain guys as good fits.
Also - if we're truly looking at AA at LEO then this IS a need that we filled

Read Biderman for a few minutes and you realize that he knows less about football than an average poster on here. I've said for awhile that Thomas would be an outstanding complement to Buckner. Lightning and Thunder gonna %$$ #%% up!

Better coaches makes a huge difference tho
Welcome to the 49ers Thomas. Let's get that defense built to get after teams

The fact that we drafted him should tell people that our COACHES don't think he's redundant. Either that or they don't think much of the guys we have already.

I can understand using the redundant argument before the draft as to why Thomas may not be the best pick for us...but after he's drafted those thoughts should go out the window.

We drafted him, we obviously have a plan for how to use him.
i was hoping for safety.. or a corner.. or a sexy receiver who can tear up 100+ catches a year.. i am happy with Thomas.. hopefully he tears it up and I hope he does..

Sounds about right what Detroit did with Matt Millen as the GM...Try the WR position until he got it right....WRONG

Side Note...I'm not bashing the pick. but piggybacking your thought process

That has nothing to do with drafting a DL at #1 3 years in a row when we have way more glaring needs.
