Lock it up. They'll try him at end but does anyone think he's even better than Blair at edge not factoring inside work? You don't play wide 9 to run stuff.

People have to accept the inevitable. Time is up. He is just not good enough. People keep talking about his sister and playing him in the wrong position, but nothing can change the fact that we have drafted a bust, that's what it boils down to at the end of the day. I am sure given the chance 9ers would offload him and hopefully get something back for him.

I can live with AA because I hated that pick from day 1, and he's not this regime's mistake. But Solomon would be a tough pill to swallow. They invested the third overall pick and never gave him a chance to play at his best position. Not to mention the extenuating circumstance he's dealt with.

Preach.

Yes, because this affects nothing at all. If a guy is drafted at top 3 overall, the should succeed no matter where you play them, even if they've never played the position before.

No one is saying he's going to suddenly be an All-Pro by moving him inside. Just give him a chance to succeed. Also, Jonnydel did some pretty great film breakdowns of him. Have you watched any?

If they draft Williams then the DL would be absolutely disgusting in base. Thomas-Buckner-Williams-Armstead.

To all future opponents, good luck with your 2019 goals of running on the 49ers defense.

I'm assuming you got Ford at sam blitzing otherwise there would be no need to run because those ends can't get to the qb.
Would love to have seen an alternate universe where we take Watson or Mahomes, or Trubisky instead of drafting ST.

They played about 5 snaps combined in base in both games against the best team in the division.

He argued for 100s of pages on why we should pick Leonard Fournette. He will never like solly, even if he ends up being good

Not quite, he can do his run stuffing edge role, and rotate inside. 2 more years on his rookie deal then move on.

I've got a question though, what if we draft Bosa, and he plays well on a line with Buck, Ford and Bosa. Do we then look at his 5th year option and an extension?

What if the improved play is down to his linemates, not his game improvement, then we say have to let go of Ford or Buck and all of a sudden he sucks again.

Dee Ford will be an old 32-years-old fart (in NFL years lol) by the time Bosa needs an extension. I wouldn't worry about that at all.

Excellent call!

You're missing my point, if Solly performs with 3 elite DL around him, he'll command a decent contract due to his draft slot.

Our team will have to adjust, will he still perform when we only have 1 or 2 elite lineman with him?

There's not many teams outside the Patriots that can play a steady diet of throwing out of base. Also, it's a game of numbers probability and tendency. If you see every 2nd and long a team throws, Ford will on the field.

if they get williams. in my opinion.. they have to trade thomas and maybe get a 5th round pick. i would rather trade aa but obviously he has those pictures so lynch and kyle will never trade him. our pass defense is the real issue or should be in my opinion

i agree with all of this. lynch threw away two first round picks. we got zip for foster so we should try to at least get a 5th round pick for thomas

We'd be lucky to get a half eaten pack of oreos for QW for Thomas.
