all this means is that the new DL coach chose Arik Armstead over Thomas. Not really sure that's the right move either, seems like a lateral move at best. But alright, I guess.

Moving Thomas makes absolutely zero sense. We haven't put him in position to succeed. He is still the prospect you took at 3 overall, why lose any chance of him becoming who you drafted after just 2 years playing out of position for a measly 4th rd pick.
Hopefully these are just feelers to see what they could get if Bosa was gone and they went QW (and if they don't get a good enough offer than trade back).
