If they really want to unload him, package him with Gould to Chicago for a 4th or 5th

Notwithstanding the irony in trading Solly to Chicago.

Baalke was mostly a build the team the he wants kind of guy, no real sense of direction except maybe year 1.
Lynch is trying to build the team the way Kyle wants it. That's the big difference I see, assuming for a split second they actually are equal talent evaluators.....(which I don't)......then Lynch is automatically better. Was it our 2012 draft that was completely out of the league soon after Harbaugh left? It's very safe to say Lynch will never have that happen to him.
Foster is a pick I won't hate on too much. He legitimately produced at his draft position, and I remember the concern back then was the shoulder not so much the extracurriculars. Foster should have been fine. Every now and then these picks pan out and you get your value.
Solomon Thomas, I really hope gets another shot.
It's called being pot committed. I hope we get Bosa or Allen, and Solomon Thomas gives us 4-6 sacks on the inside this year. I know being #3 overall he should give us more like 8-10+, and it's likely he will never be worth his value the way Quinnen Williams appears to be......but no way we're getting a first rounder for him now, maybe not even a 2nd rounder. To me it's worth another year.
A lot riding on our new DL coach, and guys. This year more than ever there's some high level expectation there. I'd say even higher expectation than Jimmy, because the stuff we've seen Jimmy do we've never seen these guys do....and there's a lot more basis to expect him to do great things just on track record alone.

What are they hoping to get for him in a trade? A ham sandwich?

Not really worth it to trade him at this time imo. Even if our draft makes him expendable, it's be better to use him as a rotational player on the inside and let him put some good stuff on film. Then we can trade him for a better pick.

If we sell low on this guy, I'm officially done with Lynch. I've never been a fan of the hire. I'm worried he's going to get Kyle fired. I honestly think Kyle is the best coach we've had since Seifert.
Ya he's a good coach but I think JH was better suited to be a college coach, that Rah Rah crap kind of gets old with the players. He's also pretty weird and has an abrasive personality. So I don't think he was ever going to be around for very long. Kyle IMO has a much higher ceiling. JH had a stacked roster while Lynch has busted on 2/3 of his first rounders and will more then likely go into the season with Pettis as our best WR.
How can anyone say kyle is a good coach he's won 10 games in two years. It seems he's better off being an oc.
if i were you id be a fan of another team, you obviously got all the answers

Like stated, if we get Bosa then Solly will have value inside, damn it play him inside, he has value there and will not only get sacks and pressures for himself but allow the edge to get their pressures and sacks.
If we go QW, then I see why we would want to have a trade partner so we can get some draft capital back.
I hope its Armstead we trade when its all said and done

So you're pretty much offering Solomon for AJ.
A 2020 3rd = a 2019 4th

This is easy. Texans shopping Clowney because they don't want to pay him.
Thomas + 2019 3rd + 2020 3rd
For Clowney
Niners draft QW #2 overall.
Clowney, Qw, Buck, Ford
Congratulations. We have the best front 4 in the NFL.

If a trade happens it will be on Sat. and maybe for someone else's player that needs a fresh start who was playing in the wrong system.
