I am not upset at Lynch for Solomon or for Foster.
The Solomon pick was, at the time, labeled the safest pick in the draft. High motor, high character, smart kid. Almost all the mock drafts had him going to us including ESPN. Don't be history revisionists. It was deemed a smart, widely accepted pick at the time.
The Foster pick was unanimously labeled the steal of the draft and early on we thought it too. He had Pro Bowl written all over him.
Sometimes picks don't work out. Sometimes people flake out. That's the name of the game. Do I wish they would both have turned into All-Stars for us? YES!
Am I mad at Lynch because they didn't? No. Neither was a reach or considered, at the time, a bust.
Now moving forward...DO BETTER LYNCH! Let's go!

For Clowney
Niners draft QW #2 overall.
Clowney, Qw, Buck, Ford
Congratulations. We have the best front 4 in the NFL.
Houston would laugh and hang up at that.

If we go QW, then I see why we would want to have a trade partner so we can get some draft capital back.
I hope its Armstead we trade when its all said and done
Agreed with the bold. We know less about Solly than AA. Solly's had little work at his prime interior position. Also, he sounds like the kind of guy who'd be badly affected both physically and mentally, by a sister's death, let alone suicide.

I don't think fans ask themselves if the other team would actually do the deal. Just smash the 'submit reply' button.

Naw he's not like Ward. Ward never flashes. At least Solly showed some flashes even if it didn't get him in the boxscore. What's the most they can get for him, a 4th? Just keep him and see if he rebounds from his personal drama filled 2018.
I agree.
And if Bosa is the pick, (which I hope he is), then I don't see why they would get rid of ST..
Question for you thl...
Does street play the same position as ST in this defense?

That's what happens when your gm comes from the broadcast booth and your only qualification is being friends with the coach.

I can't believe this boob managed to put together a team worse than Baalke's.

Nonsense. Their job is to get it right and not pick the Solomon Thomas and Fosters of the draft. You're the one revising history, I'm saying they got it wrong and I expect results and accountability.

I say the most the 49ers get for Thomas is a late 2nd and possibly a mid level player in a contract year.

This is how far this franchise has fallen. Blowing two first rounders in year 1 of a rebuild is understandable now.

I would be surprised if we got a 3rd for him.
