Don't. You can pretty much write his stuff for him. Certain players he either wants to see fail or doesn't like for whatever reasons(usually because they weren't his guys into the draft)

For the few guys who are "his" guys he'll shower them with all sorts of praise and never mention them again when they do absolute nothing - Joe Williams.

Seeing him talk down to guys doing podcasts on twitter last night was pathetic. Everyone knows how the guy got his job so him puffing out his chest and acting like he's superior since he has team and practice access is him being a "true reporter" is laughable.

When 10 reporters write about the same play from camp and only one of them has a negative spin to it....you don't listen to that guy.

Whether Thomas is lining up with 2nd string or not doesn't matter to me right now. If he has to work his way up into the starting lineup I'm ok with it. Give him that hunger again.

End of the day I'm confident he'll be "starting" inside on pass rush downs. If that means he's on the bench conserving his energy to start the game I'm fine with it.

all of this....

His live twitter last night was a typical bias garbage piece per the norm. I love how when he talks about Kyle he put in " " when talking about his explosive offense. He also instigates when the "Hoyer would have made that pass" when at practice.

He's a condescending s**thead, who thinks he knows MUCH more than he actually does.

You just have to use common sense with any source out there.

We know Maiocco has a job to do as well but he'll drop the subtle hints or not-so-subtle hints for the FO (i.e. team will resign Ward). Just pay attention.

The new one is C.J. BeatHard.

If you watch Cohn's Periscope, it's easier to pick up on where he's being genuine and where he's inciting esp. if he expands on those thoughts. I wish Maiocco and others did this because it adds way more context than the written word.

I typically take it all in but don't take anything as gospel until more and more evidence mounts BUT do make a note of the early notables.

For instance, if the local guys start to repeating a narrative (Ward, BeatHard) or if it makes sense/plausible (Cohn noting Bowman struggled in coverage badly), note it, just not as gospel.

For instance, Cohn noted Sherman seemed to have really slowed down and he also seemed to be slightly limping again at the end of sprints. That's something to monitor as it's very plausible given where Sherman is at with his injury history, age and could be a bigger issue if it persists and offenses start targeting him this year. Locals may stay away from that notable.

In short, you can take away something from any source. You just have to be more focused as a fan (sift through the narratives) vs. hating the source itself (getting distracted).

I agree you need to take it all with a grain of salt and dig through the nonsense ...I don't agree that the locals may stay away from that because "that" (whatever Grant says) might actually be a load of poop.

When one guy is pointing out stuff (mostly negative) and none of the other media guys are, IMO that's a red flag and shouldn't really be talked about. The ONLY reason I even listen to Grant this time of year is because he puts videos up and throws out more info then the other media guys this time of yr.....problem is most of that info just happens to be tossed around in bias s**t.

He's more troll and instigator, who acts like most twitter dudes (think they know everything) then actual beat writer who's reporting the truth. You can tell on his live feeds he loves it and feeds off it.

loser imo lol
I imagine AA will be the starter for run purpose reasons. He's very good against the run and has better size.
Then as you get into passing situations you go to Solly. You can't have the depth we have at d line without someone being on the 2nd team. End of the day Bosa, Thomas, Buckner, Ford should be the $ line. The one that gets after the qb.

Grant is like the boy who cried wolf. He has his moments where he reports something interesting and maybe he's on to something but I don't want to waste my time watching his stupid takes just to try to find that little nugget of truth when it's surrounded by mounds of chit.

He's calling out people for being "fans" and not being real reporters but you can report on the good and the bad without personal bias. His reports are riddled with his personal opinions which are that of someone who isn't very intelligent when it comes to this game. I'm not saying I'm a football savant but I'm also not ridiculing players and coaches in the media.

It could be but let's be real, the locals aren't going to be covering anything potentially negative either...ever. They're still spinning Jimmie Ward as the team's best DB and I highly doubt Maiocco and Biderman et al. truly feel that way themselves. I'd give anything to have an objective Cohn out there who's willing to bring in some concerns who isn't insufferable but until then, we just have to sift through both sides and let the truth mount organically. And it will in due time.
on some of these of these videos you can see some interesting stuff. for example ... yesterday I saw what looked like an awkward step and a slight limp from jimmy as he delivered a pass to the flat . I immediately became concerned as he seemed to stretch his leg before his next rep. a few minutes later ,jimmy was sprinting back from center as if he never had an injury at all. I refuse to speculate until I can see him perform in an actual game setting. then i'll make my analysis. same with solly i'll wait until bullets start flying

Exactly. You really can pick up quite a bit from the video stuff. If it's Cohn, just mute it. LOL. But a lot of the guys record what they can and I appreciate that.
I'm going to teach myself photoshop so we can post pictures trashing Cohn on twitter. Seriously hate that guy lol.

Can you send some of that footage in here ?

It was on Cam Inman's instagram story idk how to post that..

He's been on a douchebag tear the last 24 hours. One of our own has been destroying him on Twitter. Good times!

See I disagree with that...just yesterday both Matt's reported that the offense, specifically the WRs played like s**t.

They have said Ward (in the past) was the best DB in the eyes of the staff...they haven't said they agree or disagree with it...That's reporting, not forming opinions based off being bias (which unfortunately he is).

If you think grant is actually good at evaluating players, along with being a QB/WR/DL coach then for sure listen to him....thing is, I sure as s**t don't think he is. He acts like he's some football god when he's talking and it's a load of poop most of the time...His snickering and condescending attitude is unbearable.

When all of the reporters are reporting the same thing, I'll put much more stock into it...when one guy is trying to act like he's some qb coach pointing out mechanics as why JG isn't throwing the long ball well, that's a totally separate thing. Love to see Grant's resume as a QB coach lol.

They never said they did. They said for some reason the Niners thing Ward is their best DB when healthy, which apparently they do. That's not spinning anything. They are reporting what is being told to them (edit I see NY said the same earlier lol)
Matt Barrows is local and about as objective as it comes and has been around for years.
