This.

Except when you realize AA was playing better outside last year and Thomas' best play is inside on pass downs.

Assuming we're playing specific fronts then I think the following rotations make the most sense

Heavy Run offense facing front
Armstead, Buckner, DJ Jones, Bosa (Ford at Sam)

Heavy/Obvious passing offense facing front
Bosa, Buckner, Thomas, Ford

No more SNICKEL, please.
I think we can package Solo and Aweak to the Pats for a 2nd rounder..

Both Julian Taylor and Kentavius "STREET with No Name" are here for us and will be a lot cheaper... Plus, they'll have the same productions as those former 1st rounders..

I'm sorry but that's really a dumb idea considering you may end up getting a 3rd round comp pick for Armstead all on his own.

While I wouldn't mind trading Armstead considering he's doubtful to be on this team beyond this season, trading Thomas now would be incredibly negligent.

We finally have the players to put him where his talent dictates. Moving him now would be like buying a new car then filling it with diesel. You finally a chance to fix it and instead you turn around and sell the car for pennies on the dollar.

AA was playing better period. Outside or inside. Now that we have some outside rushers, I fully expect him to be more productive pass rusher from the inside than Thomas.

AA has had more time to grow and since he hasn't produced yet, fans are much more supportive of Thomas. But personally I think AA is the better player overall.

I agree. I think AA played well last season and I was happy to see them pick up the option as a result.

AA was in his 4th year in the NFL. Thomas was in his 2nd year dealing with a personal tragedy.

Armstead started his career out in his comfort zone. Thomas kept getting thrown into a position new to him and barely got any consistent snaps inside until late last year where he showed much better play.

I get that. I'm just saying I think AA will prove to be the better player in 2019 while everyone on here seems to think Thomas will earn the spot as a nickel DT in pass rush situations. I think AA will produce more from that spot with potentially less snaps.

The excuses, whether justified or not, will run thin with Thomas just like people forget AA had multiple injuries to start his career.
3rd overall pick in the draft!

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. My point was the two players aren't great comparisons given the gap in their experience and the situations in question.

Having to deal with you sister's suicide IMO is a lot more of a mind fuk than coming off injuries with a bum shoulder or broken hand.

I'd like to see what Thomas can do in a position which suits his strengths in his 3rd season.

Cheers, I'm pretty sure the rest of us had forgotten.

Sollys first year was pretty close statistically to Armstead 4th year. Which happened to be his best year by far. and that first year was much better than any of the other three years of AA.

Armstead seems to be a killer in the offseason. It's been reported a few years already. But then doesn't live up to it or gets hurts.

Hopefully he can prove to be a quality player this year. Definitely not expecting him to play like a number 3. More excited about Blair than Solly or Armstead.

a 3rd rounder for Aweak??

You gots to be kidding right??

if you're the other party, would you really offer a 3 rounder for Aweak alone??

.. the reason I'm suggesting a 3rd rounder from the Pats is because BiliCheat would NEVER give up a 3rd rounder for either Aweak or Solo... it would have to take the both of them...

.. and w/the way they have playes thus far, we wont see any differences if we use Taylor and Streets..
