I really hope to keep Sherman after this year, but if we can't, we are in pretty good shape with Witherspoon and Mosely.

Then again, having all three really helps with depth and three and four wide receiver sets.

Sherman is signed through 2020.

Witherspoon and the backup tackles have been the biggest surprises of the season IMO. He had a great game.

It does look like the college version of Spoon. He is playing with great length right now.

There has been dozens of tall guys drafted to get that area of denial effect.... spoon is actually delivering that.

Witherspoon looks like a college version of himself?

It was ppl actually complaining about this coverage yesterday in the gameday thread. I think i need to just stay outta there during games. s**t is wild Finally getting his head around is what we been wanting to see from him He looked good

They tried this several times against hiim, never worked. He squeezed the route and never got stacked each time. It was awesome. Each time, it was Davante Adams who ran it.

Good call!

I'll add Jimmy Ward to that list.

His play was excellent against the pack!

Not just the Pack. He played stellar vs the Rams and also did a pretty good job against the Seahawks.
Man....I'm so excited right now. Witherspoon played such a freakin' phenomenal game when he was in there. There was a 3 play stretch where he was on FIRE!!!!
They an outside toss and he filled the lane forcing only a 2 yard gain, they came right at him the next play with an out and up he didn't bite on and forced an incompletion and then, with him playing soft on the out an up they tried just an out route, he read it all the way and forced an incompletion. FREAKING AWESOME!!!

Good to have him back. Sending a clear message he wants his job back. Eman did a fine job of holding it down while he was out but he is reminding us he was playing awesome before he went down.

My bad, I was actually trynna add E-Man to the list of backups that surprised me this season.
Witherspoon made such a huge difference for our defense yesterday basically him and sherman shut there guys down and we let ward just play so free loved it

Absolutely, and I don't know if you have noticed this watching the coaches film, but he's the one with by far the stickiest coverage from our corners. He's also the one we can rely on being isolated more than others. I know at times all our corners are put in that position, but throughout the year he's had less help than anyone and has delivered. He plays the deep ball so well now as he is able to squeeze the WR to the sidelines and is able to run with pretty much anyone. Moseley has played really well and he certainly has a future on this team, and possibly starting opposite Witherspoon, but Witherspoon is clearly the most talented corner on the team. He just barely allows any receptions.

I will say though, and it's a very small sample size, but when he is matched with a WR inside, he does at times get a little too aggressive and allows the WR to get inside him. Granted, he knows he has help inside but Juju beat him in the Pitt game and Adams was able to get inside of him last game but Ward came in like a missile and stopped him before the first down marker.

But nonetheless, he has been phenomenal this season.
I'm NOT blaming him for Andrews td catch, cause that was on Warner. But I felt like he could have hit him or possibly got his hand in there to maybe deflect it. Would have been a great play but I felt he should have tried atleast

Yeah, he looked, "undecided"? Whatever it was, it didn't look good, like he was a bit lost on the play and gave up on it. Don't know if he could have made a difference, but he didn't even try. It was weird.
