Man....I'm so excited right now. Witherspoon played such a freakin' phenomenal game when he was in there. There was a 3 play stretch where he was on FIRE!!!!
They an outside toss and he filled the lane forcing only a 2 yard gain, they came right at him the next play with an out and up he didn't bite on and forced an incompletion and then, with him playing soft on the out an up they tried just an out route, he read it all the way and forced an incompletion. FREAKING AWESOME!!!
Absolutely, and I don't know if you have noticed this watching the coaches film, but he's the one with by far the stickiest coverage from our corners. He's also the one we can rely on being isolated more than others. I know at times all our corners are put in that position, but throughout the year he's had less help than anyone and has delivered. He plays the deep ball so well now as he is able to squeeze the WR to the sidelines and is able to run with pretty much anyone. Moseley has played really well and he certainly has a future on this team, and possibly starting opposite Witherspoon, but Witherspoon is clearly the most talented corner on the team. He just barely allows any receptions.
I will say though, and it's a very small sample size, but when he is matched with a WR inside, he does at times get a little too aggressive and allows the WR to get inside him. Granted, he knows he has help inside but Juju beat him in the Pitt game and Adams was able to get inside of him last game but Ward came in like a missile and stopped him before the first down marker.
But nonetheless, he has been phenomenal this season.
