Sherm tried the Harbaugh tactic of pumping him up to the media to give him confidence, but the confidence is gone and he's back to reality

Same. The amount of separation he's been giving up lately has been massive. He doesn't look confident at all either.
That was very noticeable.

One of the TDs yesterday he was right there but WR was able to secure the ball without much of a fight from Spon. Can't have that.
My guess is that the issue is Ford is gone. That extra half second or second or whatever is giving WRs more time to beat him.

Sherm and the DB coach need to review some things with him or something. Cause Eman is physical and becoming a really great corner for us.

He plays so timid, all the talent but no killer instinct

He wouldn't be in that position if he actually used his 6-3, 200 lbs body to jam receivers off the LOS. Instead, he gives guys free releases all game and tries to mirror them. Stated this a bajillion times, but he plays like he's 5-8, 180 lbs.

And this is NOT a technique issue. I'm sure he knows proper press-jam technique. This is a comfort issue. Ahkello simply feels comfortable using that "soft shoe" technique. He doesn't like being physical and roughing guys up. I bet if you look up every TD Ahkello's given up that you'll find him using that technique on 99% of them. He's a puss.

Im glad this dude got benched.
Not that Moseley is an upgrade, but either way, we need to get another CB on this squad.
we expect when our passrush isn't there that our DB's can still make a play.

The #49ers have allowed four passing TDs in their past two games: CB Ahkello Witherspoon surrendered each score.

I wouldn't be mad at drafting a corner in the first. Whoever plays across from Sherman is just going to get picked on.

They really exploited K'Waun Williams badly too. That was a bit surprising.
Coleman should never see the field again except to PP and run routes...not to run.
SaleHappens
Witherspoon
Williams
Coleman
...weaknesses this game. Let's grow from this on personnel choices and clear patterns.

I think Moseley is a clear upgrade esp. in run defense on the corners. And he's proven to play best in big games. He still need further refinement and development of course but at least we know he's proven thus far esp. when it counts.

Seems like Moseley isn't that great of a zone CB. Seems to do better in man coverage. At times he just gives up too big of a cushion. Witherspoon just can't seem to get his head around and track the ball. something that Moseley does better. Last week i was wrong. Put Moseley in

Let's get past last night.
In the first six games of the season, he was one of the top 7 CBs in the league. Even though that was the weaker portion of the season, he still had to go against some very good receivers, and he played the well. (Mike Evans)
When he first came back, he was not all that bad. Last night is the outlier. For some reason, he just let that get in his head and he did poorly. Let's see how things look after some time off and more specific technique work. We will need him in the playoffs even if E-man is the starter.

Weakest link on the team along with Marcell Harris. Ford and Tartt needs to get healthy asap and hope they don't put Spoon back in or we're going to struggle in the playoffs defensively.
