In the first six games of the season, he was one of the top 7 CBs in the league. Even though that was the weaker portion of the season, he still had to go against some very good receivers, and he played the well. (Mike Evans)

When he first came back, he was not all that bad. Last night is the outlier. For some reason, he just let that get in his head and he did poorly. Let's see how things look after some time off and more specific technique work. We will need him in the playoffs even if E-man is the starter.

Last night isn't the outlier. He was even worse versus the Rams Playing against the weaker opponents makes a huge difference. We won't be playing weaker opponents in the playoffs.

Evans was sick that game

Yup, and in that game he was also handing Mike Evans free releases lol. I literally posted about it in this thread, and WHAT DO YOU KNOW, it's getting exploited by WRs, as it has since he was a rookie, in these recent games.

People still talking about looking for the ball after all these years of being educated on being in and out of phase are worse than Ahkello's play. The concept of cause and effect is difficult to comprehend.

Not that Moseley is an upgrade, but either way, we need to get another CB on this squad.

we expect when our passrush isn't there that our DB's can still make a play.

moseley had that great pbu in the endzone what are you talking about
Shanny just said a decision on Witherspoon or Mosley hasnt happened yet.....but I have to imagine thats coach speak. No way they throw Witherspoon back out there.

Yup..Spoon would've gave up ANOTHER TD if he was still in on that play. Great play by EMan.
IN ACTIVATION HERE WE COME !!!

Where's the young guy we had last year (Cromartie) was it, or even the son of the sick shooter ?? Tim Harris !! ???
Earlier in the year, after his injury, the zone thought we wouldn't win another game without him. Now the zone wants us not to play another game with him . I'd say it's fair to be critical of his play, but without solid pass rush and being constantly targeted due to being opposite Sherman, it's going to be tough to look good / great.

i'm fine with spoon starting, just don't wait until the last drive of the game to bench him

what i f**king hate is how he just face guards the wr and never ever turns around like the 1st td he gave up.

He wouldn't be in that position if he actually used his 6-3, 200 lbs body to jam receivers off the LOS. Instead, he gives guys free releases all game and tries to mirror them. Stated this a bajillion times, but he plays like he's 5-8, 180 lbs.

FREE RELEASES FOR EVERYONE

And this is NOT a technique issue. I'm sure he knows proper press-jam technique. This is a comfort issue. Ahkello simply feels comfortable using that "soft shoe" technique. He doesn't like being physical and roughing guys up. I bet if you look up every TD Ahkello's given up that you'll find him using that technique on 99% of them. He's a puss.

Great post. Not sure why he's not jamming him there. Samething against Thomas in the Saints game

Or because they want to throw at a corner who either refuses to or phyiscally cant jam a WR and allows easy completions like this:
