This guy is always close to the play but just doesn't make it.... another thing is ... when receivers figure out how soft he is they just start abusing him. Confidence is everything for a corner... the look on his face after he was benched on that last drive shows he has no confidence at all.

I see him stick his hand in and he's either late or just flat misses it, almost like he can't see the ball. Maybe it's his vision. I don't know but it's too bad that a guy with his size and athleticism can't make it work on the field.

Man his reaction always seems to be late. I do not get it either, at first I thought he was trying to bait Wilson in the first Seattle game when Lockett caught the the touchdown.

This is the NFL and they're all professionals, suck it up and do what's best for the team.

When EMan was in for 8 weeks out pass D was way better. The coaches need to make the right call and move Spoon back as depth.

You don't flay your players in public, I'm sure he got an earful or will this week, but doing it publicly would erode the players' trust and faith in the coach.

Unless your name is Dante Pettis

His comments on Pettis have been critical, but still measured and calculated. It's a fine line, and I think Shanny does it pretty well.

I think Pettis genuinely pisses Kyle off

Exactly what I was thinking. He didn't flay Pettis but was open on honest that he was disappointed. I'm not advocating to call Spoon a she like Parcels, but just make the call that at this stage EMan is the starter and let's not have a controversy. Let it out now, not right before game time.

Exactly. That's what it looked like. It's not the first time I've noticed that. Last year he was having problems in the end zone. He would have the guy covered and pinned in the corner but never look around for the football. Something isn't right. I wonder if you can have vision dyslexia where you see everything backward. It's like he has computer lag where you type in something and the letters come up a second later. Could he be a robot?

Exactly. If you want an example of what not to do, go look at what Adam Gase is doing. Dude's a cancer.

That's right. He had been hopeless lately at breaking up the pass. He lets the guy run on by and then tackles him afterward, sometimes.

It is his job to turn his head and see where the ball is coming from and stop it hitting the receiver. He was good earlier in the season but after coming back from injury he seems to have forgot this essential basic of his job.

He is a liability for the playoffs. He gave away too much during the Rams and Tooters game. He will cost us the Superbowl if they play him. He will be a target as a weak point. He can polish the bench with his ass.

Lol good one I like and agree "polish the bench with his ass"
I just finished re-watching the game while paying particular attention to Witherspoon and Mosely (who came in for the final 6 minutes).

I don't see the love for replacing AW with Mosely. Yes, AW was beaten on some plays by Metcalf, however, Mosely was beaten as well. On one sideline play, he was 8 yards away from Metcalf when he made the catch. There was no marked difference between the two.

Some commented on spoon allowing too much cushion at the LOS. However, players do not make that decision on their own. That is on the DC/DB coach. For example, on one play in the second half, Witherspoon initially lined up about 8 yards off the LOS. As Seattle deployed, he began to move forward but you can see Warner motioning him to back up.

I'm not here to defend Witherspoon. I am only saying that based on this last game, Mosely does not present a clear advantage. As Maiocco suggests, I expect Witherspoon to be up for the next game and play well, as he has in the past.
Nobody was talking about a cushion. We were discussing his willingness to hand free releases from press alignment. He's been doing this since day 1.

He uses what's called a soft-shoe technique with no jamming. He likes to open the gate and run with receivers instead of beating them up and obstructing their stem(ie like Richard Sherman, who uses a kick-step technique over a soft-shoe). Dude is soft as hell, which is exacerbated by the fact that he's a big CB.

The difference is giving up TDs. I don't know the number but most of the TD passes recently have been completed on wisherspoon.

Minus the two TD's with his back to the QB (Witherspoon) and the PBU in the EZ (Moseley).
