Have never been a fan of spoon. Never understood the love this guy got.

E-Man stepped in when Spoon got hurt and elevated that defense.

E-Man should've never been benched when this guy got healthy.

Hopefully this was the game that in the coaches mind proved that Spoon should take the backseat to Mosley.
Spoon must be some kind of probowler in practice or something. I don't understand how he can step on the field week after week and lay a turd and keep getting chances over Moseley. But hopefully that's over!

Truth. Imagine how bad he would be behind an average or bad front 7.

..........
literally every OC whenever he steps on the field:

McGlinchey is good. Too bad he isn't perfect as some want him to be, smh.

Witherspoon isn't doing this on purpose. Something is up. Sit him and let him reboot in the for 2020. Coaches need to realize this for his sake, their sake, and the team's sake.
He cannot start again, try next season. Moseley is obviously better.

Moseley the rest of the way - Witherspoon has to work on his game. He's just lost his confidence right now.
Moseley is are 2020 starting CB end of story. Spoon can be the first backup for his final year of his rookie deal. They need to hit on a CB in this up coming draft.
Spoon looked very good early in the season, especially playing over the top and using his length when in zone. I like the guy, but he really does look like a one trick pony. He reminds me a bit of Marquez Pope, he needs a shorter field, he needs the sideline...he needs help to shrink the route tree he has to face. That issue more than any is probably why he started, i would suspect he gets murdered in the slot. The second the WR gets a three yard cushion, a CB is almost guaranteed that will have to defend from a trailing position. It might be the best way for the 49ers to get their top 3 CBs on the field is to keep Spoon outside. Maybe he will be a late bloomer and they can get more grade A work out of him, but thats a contact i would not renew unless it was very cheap.

Spoon did play well the beginning of the year and definitely has the size you want in a CB. Right now he's at best our 6th best DB. I'd honestly prefer them to move Ward back to CB & play Moore at safety if we were hit with injuries at corner. He's in his head, playing with bad technique and simply not getting after it, the man is playing scared. Moseley is light years ahead of him right now. He shouldn't play a defensive snap the rest of the season unless we're absolutely decimated by injuries

Why does he have to be an idiot?
Trade him while he still has some value

Lmao. Depth and any potential comp pick are worth more than trade
Like with Pettis, this game reveals character and if you don't have the right mental makeup, you WILL be exposed.
