Does Apple have an app to fix this?
He is a depreciating liability and sort of a weak link in the armour.

Moseley finds and tracks the ball with ease on any throw. It's like he has eyes in the back of his head. Plus he will get his hands in there and knock the ball down too. He is just so much better than this guy it's not even funny. All the skills required to be a CB are just natural to Moseley.

Honestly, I think Witherspoon is in a worse condition than Pettis in some ways. Dante doesn't get rattled, he is apathetic. He openly admits he doesn't care about dropping a pass. Witherspoon cares so much it absolutely destroys him and he becomes non-functional. To me, that's worse in-game because you have no choice but to keep him off the field.

Agreed

Exactly correct. People are saying he needs to look back for the ball -- well he did. He couldn't find it in all the time it hung up there, then he awkwardly trips over himself, misses the tackle, and it's a walk-in touchdown.

He has been getting burned on so many routes lately its laughable. Fades, back shoulder throws, comebacks, crosses, outs, it's insane. So many touchdowns given up because he is absolutely clueless when the ball is in the air.

Unfortunate play, he was all over the coverage just didn't have good vision and over-ran the ball, if he would have just looked back it's a pick and he plays the rest of the game. Dude has to learn how to read receivers better when the ball is in the air, they always give some kind of tell as to when the ball is coming in.

he screwed up three times on that drive.

He did have pretty good coverage. It looked to me like his feet got tangled up when he tried to look back for the ball. Even when he does something right he screws it up. I really hope Sherman can work with him in the off season and teach him a few tricks because he has the physical attributes to be a good corner. They drafted him with Sherman as a model so it would be only fitting if he taught him how to play.

He worked with Sherman last year in the offseason when Sherm has his gathering of CBs in Santa Clara (it's on YouTube). Spoon was the only young CB there, some other pro bowlers were part of it.

Spoon looked very good early in the season, especially playing over the top and using his length when in zone. I like the guy, but he really does look like a one trick pony. He reminds me a bit of Marquez Pope, he needs a shorter field, he needs the sideline...he needs help to shrink the route tree he has to face. That issue more than any is probably why he started, i would suspect he gets murdered in the slot. The second the WR gets a three yard cushion, a CB is almost guaranteed that will have to defend from a trailing position. It might be the best way for the 49ers to get their top 3 CBs on the field is to keep Spoon outside. Maybe he will be a late bloomer and they can get more grade A work out of him, but thats a contact i would not renew unless it was very cheap.

Does playing well against Winston the 30/30 man and Pittsburgh's back up really count though?

I guess he needs to work with him some more. I remember Sherman praising him early in the season but maybe that was to pump up his confidence.
His confidence seems shattered.

Take more time to develop him and sit him for the rest of the games.
Sorry, but E-man should get the start next week. I feel bad for Spoon, but it's better for the team that he sits.

I feel bad for Spoon too but looks like he's a liability for right now. Can't afford mistakes in the next game (or two) we play

He only has himself to blame. he got all the chances.

I really do believe this is correctable but will take some hard work. Witherspoon also seems like he easily gets down mentally.

It's not even up for discussion anymore. Moseley has officially taken his job.
