If that was supposed to be funny, it wasn't.

Not something to be joking about.

Is this really the world you want to live in? Obviously, it's your forum, your rules, but I just think or culture has gotten way too sensitive.

It's not about being "too sensitive". I hear that argument used so often to justify ignorant or hateful comments. I am not saying you are ignorant or hateful, but you need to understand that your comment is.

Jokes are funny for a number of reasons:
1. The audience can relate to a misstep or foible highlighted in the joke: "Witherspoon covers receivers as well as my t-shirts from junior high cover my stomach."
2. The joke makes some social commentary or relates to a shared experience: "Witherspoon provides the same coverage as a Walmart employee's health plan."
3. Puns are always funny: "Witherspoon in coverage is like trying to eat soup with a Wither-fork!"
4. The sound of the words together makes a pleasing melody, rhythm, or pattern: "Witherspoon is wack."
5. The imagery created by the joke is ridiculous or fun to imagine: "Witherspoons coverage skills are like worn out velcro. They hold on for a little, but any pressure and everything comes apart."

Now, your "joke" only reminded your audience (us) of our own experience with suicide. My best friend took his own life 7 years ago. Why would I want to be reminded of that? Why would even the thought of Witherspoon considering this be remotely funny? He's played poorly. We all know that. It sucks, but that is too far. And don't go back to that "too sensitive" line. Your comment was socially unproductive. It added nothing of value. It could only cause pain. It's the same argument I hear from people who want to use the word "retard" as an insult, or white people who are "jealous" because black people get to say the N-word and they don't. Empathy in word choice is not a bad thing.

You want ignorant.....

"Didn't read... "

Man, Oak. Try to have some empathy?

completely agree. not funny. also check my last post with the tweet
I looked again at the TD given up by Spoon. He actually had really good coverage on that play. Turned to look at the ball and could have INT it, but he slipped on his momentum trying to slow down. The receiver gave him a little shove too. Unfortunate.

Excellent call Sky!

AFTER the Super Bowl - put him in in spot duty till he gets better, constantly coaching him up.

Then we'll have a seasoned player coming off the bench to fill in.

That's what he always does.

* Great coverage

* Followed by not being able to track or locate the ball.

* Followed by losing WR at most critical moment.

* Followed by getting his feet tangled up and falling down.

* Followed by opposing team scores a TD.

That's what he does. That's why he sucks.....
Gotta give him his props though. Just heard Shanahans presser where he said Akhello volunteered himself to take emans snaps on special teams.

Don't know how well he did at that but it definitely takes some maturity to do something like that.

Give him props for the right move there. At least he can contribute that way.

Yeah that was awesome to hear.

This guy didn't get down on himself, teammates or the coaches and start to pout. He got productive.

Definitely a great thing to do.

Question: Did they take him up on offer, and if so - did he make any Plays?

I'M sure they had to ask him first if he can try and tackle instead of PUNCHING out the AIR from the RETURNER !!

I thought it was awesome too. He said, give me all E-mans plays on ST. He needs his energy to play DB. I'll do whatever I can to help the team
