its nice he said that to kyle but he deserves the bench

Yeah that's all warm and fuzzy but this the playoffs no time for learning moments.

Amazing how an undrafted free agent beats out a 3rd round pick. I really am jazzed now if the 49ers trade down that first round pick for more mid rounders (preferably all 5th rounders )

Yeah hopefully we can trade down from #32 pick.

It would be ironic if for whatever reason moseley struggles then spoon comes in and balls out lmao. I think the starter label is a lot of pressure on him and shanny basically told him if you f**k up im pulling your ass. Imagine having that in the back of your head the entire time.

I mean if you give up touchdowns after touchdowns week after week, I'm sure your conscious would be like damn they're still letting me start lol wth....

also reading this thread around when he got injured against the steelers is good stuff.

I agree with both of you.

Azeez and Emanuel were undrafted free agents. Same with Garland and Brunskill. I was at the Atlanta Falcons board and there was some comments about how (on offense) how impressive the 49er line dominated the Vikings DLine. And Garland and Brunskill were undrafted OLinemen. I'm also impressed with how Azeez played when Kwon was injured, and Emanuel was impressive in the Vikings game against Cousins.

They are doing something right from a talent evaluation standpoint, and yeah, if they trade down, I expect something like the '86 draft all over again!

Good read on witherspoon.

you can also say, so thats why our coverage unit wasn't as good on special teams this week.

has a good head on his shoulders

Just leave him alone. Why would you bash a guy on your own team, makes no sense at this critical time in the season. We should support everyone from the 1st to the 53rd guy on the roster.
If he is healthy than 99% of the time for a CB it is a mental/ confidence issue. How this happened ?, I don't know. What he really needs is team and fan support and hopefully just 1 good game to turn things around.

Long story short, WE NEED HIM.

He lacks things to me that you either have or not: natural confidence, ball skills, DOG mentality. The reason why I compared him to Pettis is that he's just soft. It's plain to see. I'm a udub alum and was surprised to see us take Pettis, never thought he'd make it in the league despite his college career because he just seemed too soft to withstand NFL physicality.

I disagree on being soft is the issue. Pettis was soft too last year but he was an effective receiver. Witherspoon was soft too in the beginning of the season but he play great football in that stretch of games before he got injured. They were both "soft" when they play good football, thus I don't think being "soft" are the issues for these 2 players. The same can be said for Witherspoon's ball skills.

I do think perhaps natural confidence and/or EQ are the issues.

If that was supposed to be funny, it wasn't.

Not something to be joking about.

Is this really the world you want to live in? Obviously, it's your forum, your rules, but I just think or culture has gotten way too sensitive.

It's not about being "too sensitive". I hear that argument used so often to justify ignorant or hateful comments. I am not saying you are ignorant or hateful, but you need to understand that your comment is.

Jokes are funny for a number of reasons:
1. The audience can relate to a misstep or foible highlighted in the joke: "Witherspoon covers receivers as well as my t-shirts from junior high cover my stomach."
2. The joke makes some social commentary or relates to a shared experience: "Witherspoon provides the same coverage as a Walmart employee's health plan."
3. Puns are always funny: "Witherspoon in coverage is like trying to eat soup with a Wither-fork!"
4. The sound of the words together makes a pleasing melody, rhythm, or pattern: "Witherspoon is wack."
5. The imagery created by the joke is ridiculous or fun to imagine: "Witherspoons coverage skills are like worn out velcro. They hold on for a little, but any pressure and everything comes apart."

Now, your "joke" only reminded your audience (us) of our own experience with suicide. My best friend took his own life 7 years ago. Why would I want to be reminded of that? Why would even the thought of Witherspoon considering this be remotely funny? He's played poorly. We all know that. It sucks, but that is too far. And don't go back to that "too sensitive" line. Your comment was socially unproductive. It added nothing of value. It could only cause pain. It's the same argument I hear from people who want to use the word "retard" as an insult, or white people who are "jealous" because black people get to say the N-word and they don't. Empathy in word choice is not a bad thing.

You want ignorant.....

"Didn't read... "

Congrats on proving your posts can be safely ignored without missing anything worth reading.
Good attitude is a big step in the right direction. Props to Akhello... Pettis needs to open his eyes and learn...
