No way. I will throw a high ABV IPA through my TV if he starts.

His short career thus far seems to be hot/cold. He'll have stretches where he looks really good and then have stretches where he doesn't look too good.

I guess that's life of a corner. If you think about it they are all alone in space and every mistake they make gets amplified and is probably a TD for the other team. No other position is like that.

Maybe he'll be a guy that ends up playing safety if he can't improve his ability to break up the pass as a corner.
Good suggestion.

Lol no it ain't. Safeties need to be able to tackle and be physical, can't hide from it like CBs can

Which kind?
I hope he doesn't pull a Kyle Williams. I could see him getting his feet tangled up and falling down.......TWICE........allowing 2 TD's on kick coverage. He's real capable of that. For a pro athlete he seems to have a tough time keeping his feet under him running down the field. Don't mess up too bad. Even special teams can bite you a lot. We have seen it before. I don't trust him anywhere. Not even on special teams. But I suppose it's better than starting corner.

Maybe an Alpine or Blind Pig. Something good.
Spoon is an easy target for fans to bash but just want to point out that his position on the this Niners team is brutally tough as our number two corner ends up locked on the opposing teams number 1 wide receiver all game. Any time that happens the corner is going to look worse than he really is. Spoon does a lot of things well to get himself in position which is often good enough if you are on the number two or three receiver but against the number one you have to have those number 1 corner ball skills or you are going to lose a lot. Spoon needs to stay ready as eman is going to jump into the hot seat this week and this game is a big ask for a young player. Hopefully our pass rush can protect these guys.

Don't think I've tried either

I've never seen him look good. He's always lost out there and has no ability to track the ball in the air. To find the ball in the air. He also has a terrible tendency to trip over his own ankles and fall down. Not a great skill for a cover corner.

Sorry, but E-man should get the start next week. I feel bad for Spoon, but it's better for the team that he sits.

It's not even up for discussion anymore. Moseley has officially taken his job.

Boy, are you going to be surprised when you find out that Shanahan and Saleh have not given up on Witherspoon like you have.

My guess is Akello gets the starting nod in the NFC Championship Game. And, once again, he'll be on a short leash.

Made a good special teams tackle. Still contributing.
I thought he actually looked like he made a good tackle on special teams on kick coverage. But I would have to go back and look at the film. At least he is contributing how he can.

He's lost his job to Moseley, I hope he takes his time now to refine and learn his position because he still has the tools to eventually take over for Uncle Sherm in a few years if he can develop.

That's assuming he gets an extension. That's hardly a given at this point.

I specifically came back to find this thread so I could apologize. You were right. I was wrong. Which shows just how much I know about football.

After the game that E-Man put together yesterday, I doubt Witherspoon sees the field again as a CB for your SF 49ers. Every time Rodgers went after him, E-Man was up for the challenge. Simply put, he was right there. If he wasn't knocking away a pass, he was intercepting it. If he wasn't doing those two things, he had his receiver so blanketed that Rodgers refused to throw in his direction.

There's no doubt in my mind that Andy Reid will put together a gameplan that targets E-Man. And, if he does, E-Man is going to have the game of his life and on the biggest of stages to boot.

Again, you were right. I was wrong.
