Spoon is this regime's Dontae Johnson, tall and that's about it....

Not sure why we have up on Will Redmond so quick after investing a 3rd on him?

Talent isn't a problem either...it's technique and discipline (like you said)

And he's soft. The worst thing to be in a contact sport.
Witherspoon was balling out before his injury last year. I'm not ready to give up on him. Dude just needs to play with confidence and make plays on the ball without drawing flags. It's pretty rare to see him just be beaten badly, dude just wasn't making the plays despite being close to the WRs. You're right there man...just break up the play using all those physical tools you have.

Define badly because he always gets beat due to him willingly handing guys free releases.

You're exactly right G49. Before his injury he was looking a totally reformed player making all the right tackles and even had an interception. When he came back all his bad habits came back too. Maybe he was not 100 percent healthy yet but in his mind he had to push it because he saw how Moseley played and that put more pressure on him causing mistakes and erratic decisions on his performance on the field. He might just need a little more maturing because he has all the tools.
It's the same story every week from his rookie season to now: Ahkello gives a WR a free release, he gets stacked by the WR and that's all she wrote. Imagine being a 6'3", 200 lbs cornerback and not using your size at all.

Badly as in he's not near the WR at the time the ball gets there. Even on his free releases his athletic ability and size allows him to usually get to the area...just fails to make the play or panics and draws a flag.

Why put so much importance into a small sample size against two opponents that were not very good?

Exactly this Hero. All it takes is a single jab with that left arm to disrupt that play/route/timing. It's elementary CB play 101. The only time you should see free releases is when playing off man in zone
His problems have been mental. When the other team goes after him and he has success responding to that, his confidence grow through the game.

When he gets beat a couple of times, he let it snowballed very quickly. Just no good for the rest of the game.

Is that the Pac12 in "press" vs. Pettis and Aiyuk? LOL
