The very first question is about this play with Ahkello:

Sherman: He gotta put himself in a better position...

Q: Should he have turned around and looked for the ball?

Sherman: He needs to stay on top and then he'll have an opportunity to look. If he would have look there, he would have still been behind. The receiver gave him a nice little shove and got on top of him. So if he would have look right there, it would have still been a touchdown. So, he has to play more into the receiver and get himself in a better position.

Like, if you don't understand why he's not supposed to simply "look for the ball" without being in the proper position, you're either a troll or dumb.

That's a stupid comment - you make no sense to me. Let's just leave it at that.

What the man said , , , what a stupid comment.

That the only time he played double digit games was in 2015 five years ago, right? I don't get their thinking here considering the importance of CB play in today's game. It's almost as if they think their pass rush will bail out our piddling CBs even after seeing how that failed in the second half of last season when our DL was decimated with injuries.

Verrett is an injury concern - I hope they're not counting on him being healthy all year.

I'm with you there.
But AW is t'rbl. He's got physical tools but he's not psychologically adapted to playing that position in a live situation. He's a liability.
I believe that the coaches realize this. They could probably pick somebody up from the waiver wire who could do a better job. Of course coaching the acquisition up while meaningful games are being played would be a challenge.

On a side note, if that was Kittle in a key Superbowl moment, he would have been called for OPI there (first one called in NFL history).

Plus, we face teams like AZ that are going to throw 4-5 WR's at us. Maybe they were trading for another CB? But either way, we need all the CB's we can get. This is the 2nd most injured team and we're going to need everybody again.

Is there anyway we can pull xavier howard from the dolphins theyre trading everyone else anyways. Id rather trade our draft picks for good players then let Lynch draft and ignore positions of need. Only problem is Howard will cost but hes a certified pro bowler.

I don't know about getting Howard but I would think they maybe trying to bring someone else in or maybe Mosley and Verrett have passed Witherspoon up on the depth chart and they want to see if he has any trade value. Doesn't mean they trade him but just gives them idea if they can get a mid round pick for him.
Interesting that we are interested in trading him, it's kinda worrisome to not have depth at the CB position

I think it's more telling that we would be willing to trade him with how thin we are at CB. It's not like John, Robert and Kyle don't realize that it's just this dudes soft as room temperature butter and that doesn't work in the pros. It also could mean we have some bubble DB we want on the 53 like Mayden. I think Akello might just be cut what I've been saying for 2 years.

Aside from kittle, warner, and greenlaw our front office sucks at drafting. Bosa, mcglinchy and Deebo dont count although we could have got greedy williams and traded back into the 2nd for Deebo or Aj brown.

You silly lol
Spoon's problem as far as I can see, is knowing where the ball is. He covers pretty well but seems to lack the ability to know when to look back for the ball or read the receiver and know when it is about to arrive. The good DBs know how to do these things. Until he learns those things he will never be a top level DB.

I'd rather Just keep him if that's all we're gonna get in return.
Jason Verrett must look really good if we attempted to trade Witherspoon. I just don't see the sense in that. Even if he's the 5th best CB, you'd figure Witherspoon is either better than some other team's 5th best receiver. Or perhaps our bubble guys are even with him/better than him or show a lot of promise.
