Gave up the go ahead. Move on from this guy.

I hate Ahkello more than most. That play ain't on him
Stay with your man. He's gone anyhow.
You ever covered a dig route in man to man? I agree he's gone but miss me with that nonsense
Weak excuse. You either can or can't. It's 4th down with the game on the line. Find it!

So no you never had to cover it.
LOL yeah. Waking up and grinding everyday is harder. Whatever he's gone!

Loved how he swagged on metcalf today
I'm so happy he helped us get the 12 pick in the draft. It's funny how some fans value him because he has one or two games a year and then he's a disaster the other games.

He's really not that bad. Can be improved upon, but he isnt the problem on our team.
Hopefully he's somehwere else next year
Witherspoon has had plenty of chances. Like another poster said here. A few games he plays good, then most other games he's getting torched. That go ahead was ridiculous. Like he didn't give a damn. He's gotta be gone. There's no question about it.

Sorry going zero coverage and forcing your big corner to guard their fast route runner by himself and not generate pressure was the problem.

Not failing to keep up with that WR for 6 seconds was not what failed that play.

Witherspoon was playing outside leverage on the far side of the field. We should assume that was what was called. Unfortunately, that puts him a step behind the fastest receiver on the field on a route that runs all the way to the far side of the field. I doubt there are any CBs in the league that could have caught up to Lockett on that route. There is a time you just have to hand it to the opponent for having just the right play call at that time.

For my .02...Witherspoon will be back next year. Once he got healthy this season, he played very well.
He gone

Lol, this is exactly what they said on the broadcast. Watch the play. Ahkello was in press alignment. He could've used his 33" arms to jam Tyler knowing that Saleh was sending pressure and that Wilson would have to hurry his throw. Instead, in CLASSIC Ahkello fashion, he motors off and gives Tyler Lockett a free release. Lockett proceeds to easily run away from him.

Yeah he is in fact that bad. He is exactly The problem with our team. The problem of playing backups, some of which are so bad.... and Witherspoon is not only horrific a lot of the time but inconsistent would be putting it lightly.

Glad we are trimming the fat with players like
Witherspoon, Alexander, Pettis and so on.

Good call Hero. I still can't believe people defend him as even a cb3 or 4. He's even a bad overall backup. Maybe I would keep him as a cb 5 or 6 but be worried he'd give up a td on most drives if he was forced to play due to injuries(which is a guarantee on the niners)

Enough. So glad he's gone imo. Shanahan implied as much in his press conference too so our pain will be short lived

Check out Verrett at the bottom of the screen. Not only does he put hands on DK, he gets physical with his guy after he's passed DK off to Dontae Johnson. Verrett is 5'9" 185 lbs but plays 6'3", 200 lbs; Ahkello is the exact opposite.

Bye-bye, Ahkello. Maybe you can retire now. After all, you said it was your goal to get paid and retire young like Chris Borland.
