I can't wait.

Captain checkdown got us 13-3 in 2011 I'd be happy with that.

No. Style points are all that matters. Don't ever bring wins into this. It was 100% the defense. The offense literally didn't even need to take the field.

Very true. But actually, I'd rather win with defense. I wouldn't want a team that scored a bizzillion points and had a defense that ranked near the bottom. I don't think a team like that does very well in the playoffs. For me, I want an offense that has the talent to move against most, if not all, of the top defenses in the current NFL. It should be balanced with a very good run game and a passing game that can convert on 3rd downs. Most of all, I'd like a QB that is cautiously aggressive. Alex is too cautious - on the scale of caution meter. I'd want a QB that was, say 30% less cautious and 30% more aggressive than Alex. I want that QB to not hesitate to throw the deep ball if it's there.

I'm with you Giedi. Give me an efficient O with Big D team (2011 Niners) over the flashy passing team (Saints 2008-2016) ANY day of the week!

OMG, you should be Kyle's right hand man. This is the exact model that Kyle is looking for. A big dominant D and a bend don't break offence that ball managers so we don't turnover and shoot ourselves in the foot.

A very smart QB like CJ even if he has a pop gun arm, can do this job very effectively.

In golf this would be akin to driving for show, (Saints) and putting for dough (2011Niners). And it is true. You gotta love our D , and I am really starting to like our D.C. COULDN't have said that the last two yrs.

Or you could be the Niners of old and be #1 in both.

Give me this.....basically being a top5 in both Off and Def for a decade.

I do agree though if you could only have 1, being more proficient on Def gives you a better shot at winning but Off is more fun to watch.

Yup. That defense, o line and run game. Just about Any qb on that team would have at least made the playoffs.

Who was the #3.. josh johnson,Tolzien?
Kap wasn't ready. Thats a lil offending to Alex, he did enough. Yall forget against the saints he had a great game. Probably best of his career. No championship game without Alex.

Yeah. The D. What a couple of years they had. You have to wonder, how did we not win it? Those guys hurt people just by lining up.

Why are we talking about this in the cj thread?

Something along the lines of surrounding CJ with the best possible talent..having a stacked D and a cheap game manager plus some compared to going for the gold at all costs/low key tanking for a franchise QB or paying 30 million for a QB.

Yea I said almost any qb. Not bums. But any average starter could have made the playoffs on that team. He had 196 yards a game, 17 td and 5 int. That's like kaps numbers last year.

Same as saying any qb could have won the super bowl in 2015 with the broncos d. Peyton was completely terrible. Brock had a few heroic moments during the season as well. Doesn't change that they won because of the run game(in last half of the season for broncos) and defense.

can't wait for those 3 yard bombs

Oh yeah! ...against the rams... 3 yard slant 80+ yard TD! (21 second mark on video below)
?t=34

He had two 90 plus yard TDs in that game, both on short slants.

I was there in LA at that game. The Rams fans were gloating over me and my bro till Taylor ripped the 2 TDs off and the Niners went on to win..What a game that was, then Everett fumbled the snap at the Rams goal-line and it was over..booowhaaaa...! Niners!!
