That's ridiculous considering he hasn't even played a snap in a preseason yet.
LOL ... he was the 104th pick in the draft. #1's wash out all the time in this league. And 7 practices into the season you make this kind of statement. Zone gonna zone I guess.
I'm going by what the reports are coming out of the practices. There's hardly been any reports on how CJ's been doing. So, I take it as he's not been impressing much. Now, NCommand has a link to reports on CJ and that can sway my opinion. Again, I'm just going by reports coming from our reporters.
I heard he threw an interception in practice. He will be gone from the league in a year. Can't have that.

He's struggled with accuracy and sometimes it looks really bad.
His experience in college is certainly translating into this offense nicely. I genuinely give him a legit shot at the #2. We'll see if he's a gamer soon. That said, Kyle is in absolutely no hurry to develop him or force the action but that's not up to him. That's up to BeatHard
I read the quote from CJ (your link) the game is slowing down for him. That a good sign. There are several different NFL speeds. Preseason speed is about 50%, regular season speed is about 75%, playoff is about 90% and super bowl is 100%. If he can aclimate himself to around 60% man I would be so happy!!!!

I get your point, but considering Maiocco's extreme reluctance to go out on a limb, I think its saying a lot.

The only explanation is Mayo is trolling
You can't possibly make a statement like that 1 week into first training camp

Read some of those same reports - I interpreted them differently. I try my hardest to not make a determination for a couple of years.
It's early yet. Too early to proclaim anything either way. As a fan I hope CJB becomes the guy we've been looking for, for 18 years. That being said I'll remain optimistic that KS knows his stuff (regarding QB's in general and wanting CJB specifically) and will allow things to play out however they will before making any final judgement. At this point saying he's a bust or a sure fire HOF'er are both ridiculous assertions, but I have heard nothing of the latter and far more of the former being said, and it's too early for that.

Nobody I don't care who you are, can tell Us how successful he is going to be..... however from what we know already is:
He is picking up the new system, a complex system, with dedication
He is making good and bad throws, but he is being very critical of his throws.
He has a natural throwing motion and quick release (can't be easily taught).
He appears to be picking up the system quicker then Barkley
He is prodding Shanahan mind after plays.
I think this kid is dedicated to football and has the mind for it. I don't know if he makes it as a starter yet, but I'll put money on it he will be at minimum a #2 in this league for years to come.

I like that he's not afraid to try and make plays. He'll trust the system and his reads.

The thing I'm noticing is his ability to learn a very complex NFL offense. Shanahan has one of the more complex systems in the league, so the fact that he's getting it is a very good sign. Barkley is said to be struggling some with it and he's been in the league a few years already. I can only assume that as CJ gets more of this system and the concepts under his belt, he may very well prove to be a capable QB in this system. I fully expect Hoyer to have an above average year this season because he has the confidence of being the undisputed starter, has more time in the offense, and has enough offensive weapons it appears.
