I'm excited for the kid, but this feels like a classic webzone setup. Lots of good feelings before hand followed by a ton of over reaction.

It's just natural to be pessimistic, but I hope CJ has a good game. I'd love for him to take the #2 spot from Barkley.

I can't remember a rookie qb who received higher praise during TC (on our team I mean)

I think matt maiocco actually stated that the other day.

Especially, if our OL continues to be in complete flux.
I'm less hopeful than a week ago, pre-Zut, but still hold out hope that our two OTs, C, play well, and then we see how Fusco, Zane( i think he plays well) and barnes or whoever , magnuson for heaven's sakes, plays well. Especially good news would be a guy not mentioned in camp who gets a shot, plays lites out. It's not unprecedented to have a camp nobody shine in PS games...literally out of nowhere. Yeah, really iffy, but still sure would be nice..

I dont think it matters to much but its gotta be worth something lol. Hopefully he balls out and maybe we get to avoid spending 26 mil a year on a qb next year. Its tough cause I wanna see hoyer succeed and that means no cj this year and if we sign a qb he won't get his shot.
Chances are he doesnt amount to anything really so probably shouldn't even worry about it.

I'm just happy that we don't have a starter who is afraid to throw the ball, can't see receivers, and can't make 2nd reads. I'm happy because now, our backup rookie won't look like a superstar compared to the starter because the backup isn't afraid to throw it to WR's who are at multiple spots on the field.

Just want to see:
Stays in pocket , tough, keeps eyes downfield....doesn't flinch wiht BIG RUSH in his face.
Accuracy... throws a majority of balls right on the button.
Busted play...and you know there will be one...keeps his cool, makes lemonade out of lemons.
WCO dink and dunks... we actually see for the first time in 5 yrs, a 5 yd pass on the money and does not exceed 95 mph. JK, we're talking a nice touch pass, no mustard, and right into the hands.
The long ball...just want to see : is the ball in the same zip code, is it about in the catchable range and if on the OoB line, does he have a back shoulder throw.
Finally...and every bit as important...does he make his reads well, Can he adjust to pre snap changes on the D? Or is he overwhelmed? Really curious how he does when everything goes to schidt in the backfield....poor snap, RB goes wrong way, OL does a brain fade....any or all of the above.
Ok, final finally...does he look like he belongs. Think we already know hte answer here, but just want to see it in the flesh.

Along that line, will be of interest to see how kyle manages time here. Hoyer first Qtr or first half? Does Barkley get snaps, if so what, a quarter? And then there's the developmental project, CJ. Does he get a full qtr, two of them maybe? Does he look so good kyle wants to see more....or does he think that way about hoyer. That all will not only be interesting, but revealing. How he allots time is going t really be interesting.

I don't think we'll see Mullen unless it's a few snaps at the end if we have the game won or no chance to win.
I'd guess Hoyer gets a drive or two, Barkley the rest of the half and maybe to start the 3rd,then Beathard gets the rest.
Game 2 switch Barkley and Beathard.

Could be...but i would be very surprised if kyle didn't give hoyer at least a qtr. The guy has never played with the other 10 guys on the field. I would think kyle would like to see at least a qtr of hoyer. But what do i know? Nada.
