Look at Beathard's 2015 numbers...they're good. Iowa's usually a run-first team. In 2016, Beathard and a number of his receivers were hurt...and the numbers sagged. Here's the thing, though...Shanahan had a private workout with CJ that Coach ran. He came away feeling Beathard was a guy he could develop...nothing more. He sees him as his 3rd string QB. It's possible Lynch might have been able to wait 'til the 4th rd without trading up...but, he was the guy Coach wanted. When that's the case and there's a chance another team could take him, as a GM you go after him. It shows Coach and Lynch are in synch...and I can't fault that one iota. CJ's favorite target, George Kittle, lauded his QB. Now, they're both Niners. It works for me.

From what I've seen it looks like his OC was somewhat hesitant to let him throw the deep ball
But when he does it looks great
His long ball accuracy is horrible. 30%. So because he can't complete it just goes to he has no arm.

My guess is some uninformed "expert" said that he had a weak arm, then a bunch of other lazy "experts" picked up on what that other "expert" said and started saying the same thing without watching any tape. Pretty soon it was practically common knowledge that the kid has a weak arm. Too bad most of the "experts" don't actually know much.
Feel free to substitute "expert" for "fans who are pissed that Shanny didn't draft their guy".

Sadly, I know longer trust Shanny's opinion on QBs. Regardless of how many QBs are projected to be studs next draft, how many of them will fit Kyle's offense?? Maybe 1, maybe none. Maybe he just doesn't want to teach a young top prospect QB his way and have the pressure of grooming a new QB quickly and just cops out and goes after Cousins.
Yes, "apparently, he wanted to draft Derek Carr" But was Derek Carr looked at as a top 5 pick in 2014? No. So remember not every great or even future HOF QB is even compatible with the genius Kyle Shanahan. All I'm getting at is: don't get your hopes up.
What are even talking about?

1.) How do you measure "long ball accuracy"
2.) what is the distance that it's considered a long ball?
3.) if I was told that for every 3 long balls my QB throws 1 would be a completion I would be so happy.
Guaranteed first down on every drive

Make sure to let Shannahan know this.
Send him a note.

By the 2018 draft we'll know if Cousins is on our roster or not...
Exactly and then ciuldvturn our attention. To Christian Kirk

No kidding LOL. The guy wanted the McDaniels so bad as HC that he criticizes everything and anything Kyle has done. Hasn't coached a game and none of the players chosen have played. LOL Do we not remember that McDaniels thought Tebow was a 1st round pick? What has McDaniels done without Bill and the best QB in NFL history?

Completion percentage on passes over 20 yards was under 30% for his college career. That sort of deep ball accuracy put him nearly last in his QB draft class and would be last among NFL starters.
