This is the quarterback that Kyle liked the most in the draft. He thinks that he has the best skill set and tools that will translate to Pro success, especially in his system. Now he is banking everything on it. he drafted him and will develop him the best he can, and if he doesn't like the progress or think it is going where he wants it to, next season he will go after Cousins, Garapollo or someone in the draft.

Pretty much this is him taking who he thought was the best QB in this draft and seeing where it goes, gives him a year to gauge his development and if it isn't good enough they are going to get someone else next season. I think it is very smart. This guy could surprise us all and I think we all hope he does.

That probably will happen regardless.

Are you sure this is the quarterback Kyle liked most in the draft? I think it's safe to say, "This is the quarterback Kyle liked most in round three when they were picking."

Good analysis tho
So much discussion for our 3rd string QB

Yeah, I think it is pretty safe to say this is who he thought was the best. If he thought someone else was going to be a great quarterback or a chance to be a great franchise QB, he would of grabbed him, right?

I mean who would say "I think Watson/Trubisky/Mahommes are going to be great Quarterbacks in this league, but lets just get a DE. Franchise Qbs grow on trees."

This, you don't pass on a guy you think can be a franchise qb in the 1st unless you have one on your roster already

Dude, we used our 4th rounder on him coupled with a 7th to move up a couple spots. That's not "going all in".

A first or second rounder would be going all in. Not pick #104.

Cj can very well not make the roster when all is said and done. (Do we keep 3 QBs)

You don't cut a 3rd round QB you traded up for to keep 2 QBs when neither of them is a long term solution.

I don't remember typing "going all in", if I did, I didn't mean to. I did reread it just now and realized I made a typo. I meant "now he isn't banking everything on it"

There is very very slim chance that he gets cut. He would have to be atrocious for
That to happen haha.

So many people honestly think Kyle drafted this guy to just be a quality career backup. lol I highly doubt that is why he moved up to draft
Him in the third when some real quality players were left. CJ may end up being a career backup but Kyle thinks this guy can be a quality starting QB. Otherwise he would of just waited to draft a QB in the later rounds.
