If Mitchell goes, who backs up DJJ at DT1T? Any other NT on the roster?

Day can play 1T. Once Day was acquired last season, DJJ became a healthy scratch the rest of the year.

Originally posted by NCommand:Yeah I can't see both Mitchell and DJJ being active on gamedays when Day is in the lineup providing positional flexibility. These big dudes don't provide much on STs so having 2 guys that are purely 1T (DJJ, Mitchell) isn't ideal. Not sure how cap savings works out, but unless Mitchell is an big, influential lockeroom leader, I think he's a veteran cut. Especially if DJJ continues to play well this preseason.

Remember, if Mitchell is on the roster, Jones will be sitting on his ass inactive for another year.

The only thing with Mitchell is that we wouldnt get any cap savings from cutting him. His whole salary this year is guaranteed i believe. I think a trade would probably be ideal or if DJJ outperforms him, maybe make Mitchell inactive and keep him as insurance in case DJJ gets injured. But given that he is veteran and a leader, he might request his release if we dont let him suit up on gamedays
