Whoa. Count me in as being officially worried with all these injuries. This is really major. Day and Solly f**king stink. Wouldn't be that major if Ford wasn't hurt b/c we could push AS inside. But without Ford and Jones we looking f**ked up on the Dline. Add in Tarrt and Sherm beign down. Offense gonna have to carry the team going forward. Defense isn't going to be total garbage but no way they can maintain with this many key injuries. This some b******t.

I think this officially turns us into an Offensive focused team. Just too many injuries on the defensive side now.
I think our offense is prepared for the challenge though.

This is the biggest defensive injury thus far--DJ is what makes it work.

I have posted early and often, the team with the least injuries, usually wins the SB. I am talking about talented teams, but it still applies. How BB has managed this over the last 20 yrs, IDK. It looks like having a deep enough team that you can have major injuries and still go on. But virtually EVERY team has lost key guys. QB? Lose him and you are screwed. But more and more it applies across the board, DBs, OLs, DLs, RBs, WRs, TEs, the whole magillicutty.
Winner this yr odds on should be Lamar's team in that they seem least injured of most everybody. Some injuries a team can finesse. Others....just no way. With Dee it was an issue from the gitgo. I just hope he can show up for playoffs. That would be just awesome. It does remind that we need ERs way up on needs list...Same with DBs, and OLs.
As for depth, JL has done a great job with depth , altho i wasnt aware of it at the time. I guess if one wanted the great equalizer...injuries would be it. Problem is tho , you never know when your team is next. And we are in that state as of right now.

That is what happens when a team is good - one side picks up the other.
Over the past four games, Garappolo's passer rating has been a whopping 128! That will make up for some issues on defense no doubt. Any time you can look Drew in the eye and beat him, you are something special. Oh, and there was that 146 versus that Aaron guy as well.
We're good.

Its also good that we have a run game that can keep the defense off the field when they are clicking.

This is my question too...I get a season ending with just a few weeks left but could he be back for the playoffs??
The team is evaluating and getting 2nd opinions per KNBR. If he can somehow recover and we make it past the early weeks of the playoffs there's a chance he can come back.

Agreed, it seems the fine line is not just depth but when the drop off at one position becomes so big it can be exploited during the playoffs. In those patriot runs, they never had the big "drop off". Yeah their WRs might of sucked but either Edelman, Gronk or some RB would step up and give Brady his bread and butter quick passing game. They never lost a OL to the point that the back up was a turn-style and any defensive losses could be covered by Bellichecks scheme. Once the drop off is so large it cant be schemed around... the team is f*cked. There are only a few positions you can enter a game with practice squad players at and realistically win, usually its WRs or TE complimented with a Monster running game + excellent D. Almost every other position will get exploited.
Whats harder with the 4-3 is that its much more talent dependent. Basically here is our D now beat it, rather than scheming. Every loss becomes magnified... a edge rusher goes down which then gives QBs more time to beat the 3-deep zone which then means our DBs have to be that much more talented in order to recover from just that one injury. While most the talent is on the defensive side of the ball, I feel like its easier to absorb an injury on the offensive side due to Kyle's expertise and having so many fluid parts that the injury can be schemed around. With this defense, its basically here is what we are gonna do can you beat us? and those types of defenses have a much harder time dealing with injuries compared to the BB styles.
